“Ambiance - really pleasant ski loft cabin feel. Could be a little cleaner. Service - friendly and helpful Selection - a decent mix of offerings. They even have some other breweries represented. Food - decent food offerings. Value - fair value Overall - pleasant place.“

“Huge spot located very close to the outlet mall, so there was a good amount of traffic on the streets. Came here on a holiday afternoon specifically to enjoy the game area (which for some unknown reason was closed until the evening - makes 0 sense to me). We got a table outside and ordered some beers and food instead. Neither were very impressive. Service was mediocre too. This place is probably a skip.“

“Nice enough place in the Tannersville/Camelback area...and not far from I80. I’ve passed many times but never stopped as I heard it wasn’t that great beer-wise. This time I was on a beer tour from Berwick Brewing to ShawneeCraft...and this was right on the way (plus I was hungry...lol!). There were 12 beers when I visited which included a very nice cask conditioned mango saison. I found the pale ale and IPA decent enough but really enjoyed the specialty "Superhop". Note that they have guest taps...9 when I visited...some good ones at that (Brooklyn, Victory, Dogfish). The food is bar food...maybe a step above the TGIF/Applebee’s type. The building is attractive enough...so all in all...nice place to stop if in the area...but definitely not a destination craftbeer place. By the way...the bartender I had was fantastic..."Leah"...sweet...talkative...& very pretty. I gave her a compliment about her beautiful hair...and somehow ended up with a free logo taster glass (thanks Leah!). Don’t know if you’ll fare as well...but ask for Leah if sitting at the bar.“

“Went with a group, adults and kids. I liked the open chalet like seating. Wood exposed all over and glass inclosed brewing area. The wait staff was good, something I don’t always see with as many young kids we had. Food was better than what the kids would have picked and better than the 4 days of Great Wolf food we would have so it worked well for us. They were out of the beer I wanted but the 3 I tried were not bad, in fact better than the areas Lager.“

“Stopped here for lunch today. Big and lots of beams, but nothing special about the ambiance. Only about 4 or 5 house beers available (they were out of their house IPA). We tried the Gold Ale and the Breakfast Stout. Both were decent but unremarkable. The guest taps we had were Yards IPA and a stunningly good Stegmeier Summer Pilsner. Food was pretty poor. Wife had a chicken sandwich caprice and only ate about half of it. I had the sesame chicken sandwich and didn’t really enjoy it. Part of the problem is their ciabatta rolls - they were a bit stale and very very doughy. All you could taste as you gnawed on the sandwich was the bread. Sweet potato fries seemed like they were frozen and just dumped from bag to fryer. Kids chicken fingers tasted just like KFC. Service was OK, though it did take way to long to bring our first beers over. I guess if you want a beer and this is the only port in a storm, then it’s worth a stop in.“

“Biggest thing going for this place is the ambience. It feels like a chalet and it seems very warm and cozy especially at night. They have a nice square bar area that is conducive for conversations. Unfortunately the beer needs a lot of work and there’s no sense that anyone there has a passion for beer. In addition to the beer they make they also sell bmc product which seems to defeat the purpose of a Brewpub. Many of the beers were served at too cold a temperature. I ordered a beer sampler but got the same brown ale passed off as a seasonal as well. The food was edible but nothing I’d go out of my way for.“

“Large lodge style building with a large bar and lots of seating. Although I wasn’t skiing, this would be a convenient place to stop after a day on the slopes. The beer is average. When this brewery ventures into more difficult styles, things get dicey. The barleywine was bad and the couple Belgian styles brewed were sub par. They had 3 additional brews on draft aside from their own, 2 macros and sierra nevada pale ale. Nevertheless, this place has a great atmosphere and large menu.“

“This Brew pub is right at the bottom of Camelback Ski Resort, so If you go at a peak dinner or lucnh hour, you should expect a bit of a wait. The food was decent. Our Waitress was very pleasant but didn’t know about the Porter when I asked about it. Overall the dinning wasn’t bad but the beer was very average at best.“

“Went here recently and back a few years ago .... Nice location near the Crossing outlets and camelback ... Food was good had some appetizers menu had a good mix price wise ..... Service was awful our server never asked if I wanted another beer and scoffed when I gave her gift cards to pay with .... The beer was average ... They have a game room and the place is clean a wiffle ball field as well which would be cool to check out in the warmer months .... I’d go to shawnees brewpub instead which isn’t too far off of I-80 from here.“

“Little did I know, but I had been driving past this place on route 80 every summer for the past 10 years. This year I have a little one, so I needed to stop to feed him on our anual trip to NY. Ambiance wasn’t anything special - typical casual family restaurant. Beer wasn’t special either - generally watery and uninspiring. Food was pretty good, though a bit overpriced. That said, this place is like an oasis in a big sea of nothing which is the vast majority of PA outside of Philly and Pittsburgh. Worth a stop if passing by.“

“I visited on a weekend during the winter so of course it was packed with people visiting Camelback and the outlets. Old lodge type interior was nice. Place was also packed souvenirs to buy (shirts and whatnot). Didn’t get to eat because it was standing room only but the rushed few pints I had were quite tasty. I would like to go back to get the whole experience- tour, food, and a real beer tasting.“

“First let me say that if I’d known this place was within walking distance of the outlet shopping center I would have spent more time here. As it turned out we stopped here on our last day of vacation on a whim only to discover it’s located behind the outlets that we went to earlier in the week. I must not of had my beer-dar turned on that day. Inside it’s a very nice looking cabin-ish styled bar/restaurant. I think they also have a separate deck/pavilion out back. The beer selection is pretty good for a brewpub (light ales, lagers, wheats, IPAs and barley wines). I had the Iron Arm wheat first which was good. It didn’t knock me off my seat but I wouldn’t turn it down either. Then I had the Rescue IPA which was the same; good but nothing to get worked up about. Didn’t have anything else as our group was just stopping for a short time. Had wings and sweet potato fries which were also very good. Would like to have spent more time here. It looks like it could be a fun place to hang out while the significant others are shopping. And they have free tours every day at 12:30. Maybe next time. “

“Great place for wings and a brew. Went on the tour at 12:30, it was just my me, my wife and the brewer. Got to try a sampler at the end. Was pleasantly surprised at the Mai Boch and Golden Ale.“

“Saw sign on the highway and had to stop in for a brew. It was midday on Monday and we even got a private tour. Simple brewery set up and friendly tour guide. Beers were alright, only sampled two.“

“Big building stuck on the corner of two busy country roads. Close to I-80 with road signs directing your approach so it’s worth visiting for no other reason than it’s a brewpub in an area with no other options. Big restaurant interior, more waitstaff than is necessary, but most importantly the beer quality is lacking. The IPA and foreign stout are atrocious, and only the pilsner tastes like anything worth paying money for. You know what you’re getting going in, though.“

“Its a nice place, they have a good selection of their own beers which can be hit or miss. The food is ok, but it is a little overpriced, but this is a tourist spot in the poconos so it is to be expected.“

“Lunch on saturday. Nice looking place on the inside and out. even thought thery were expanding the building. Service was pretty bad, server was quite slow and did not know much about the beer. Food was expensive especially for wings. Food was good though. Beer was pretty good but the sampler is pretty expensive compaired to what I have seen before. Over all it was pretty good.“

“Stopped by here for lunch on a Thursday. Dinning room got pretty crowded and they seemed under staffed. Lunch took over 1.5 hrs! Had a 10oz’er of ther Barley Wine (which was mediocre) and a sampler. Nice thing about the sampler, is they give you a sampling glass to take home (nice touch). Below average beers and food was OK.“

“nice location in the Poconos. Building seems to be a restored barn, pretty big and airy inside. I had been here before a few years back and really liked their seafood gumbo, which is no longer available. Food was decent but not great. Beers ranged from average to somewhat subpar. If I go again, hopefully they will be better next time. I would say worth a stop only if you are already in the Poconos. Their IPA is drinkable, so go for that one first.“

“Updated 1/20/2007: We visit Barley Creek whenever we visit the Poconos. The building is awesome. Huge space with post and beam construction held in place with pegs. Nice deck out back, maybe they can add a sunscreen for the late afternoons. The food over the last 12 months has improved dramatically. My last rating was a 6, now its an 8. The nacho appetizer platters are huge. The shepherds pie, which had undergone an unfavorable recipe change, is back to its former glory. Family friendly + good brews = good time. Note - very crowded on weekends. Expect to wait.“

“I visit Barley Creek quite often and its a lot of fun. The bartenders are awesome and very friendly. The beer is some of the best microbrew ive had. They recently got a new general manager and a new kitchen manager so the food and service have improved and everything is much more consistent. I definitely recommend this place.“

“A nice clean and comfortable place. Families are very welcome. A nice selection of their own beers and some macros for non beer geek friends. The food my family had was excellent, I had the St Louis BBQ ribs and would highly recommend them. Was a fun place after skiing. More than a few Camelback locals.“

“Been here quite a few times. The ambiance is not cozy or inviting, rather too spacious & sparse. The service is fine & willing most times; the food standard pub fare. The beers are inconsistent, though more than okay. The black beer was quite good this time. A place to go after a few hours at The Crossings.“

“This is a great place to hang out after skiing/boarding in the Winter. It’s right on the way out from Camelback Ski area. They have a solid selection--enjoyed the Stout the best. The food is good too. Been there 5 times and never had a bad experience. The service is good too and families are welcome.“

“A very nice looking place but the beers weren’t (as a whole) good. A lot of faults in most of their beers. It was funny that their lightest and strongest beers were the only ones fairly appropriate to style. My wife somehow got food poisoning on her food as well.“

“set in a gorgeously renovated barn with timber tresses holding up the roof and everything in natural wood, average service (i have sat for quite a while waiting for my server to come back to order another round) serves up some very nice brews. they usually have 6 to 10 of their own beers on tap, as well as a few macros, which allows for my favorite thing...if someone orders a macro, they get a free sample glass of BCBC’s nearest beer to compare it to. food is very tasty, mostly german fare. i enjoy going here every couple weeks for a pint or 6.“

“First started going here back in the late ’90s. Then stopped for a long while being very disappointed in the food and beers. Has not changed much. Fantastic setting. Looks like a ski lodge, with views of woods and mountains from the outside deck. Inside resembles a huge a-frame with lots of room for seating. Beers in my opinion are poor, and the food rather average at best. Big portions, though. Be warned, for I have not had a good beer off of a tap here, I think ever.“

“Nice Brauhaus seating with big wooden benches. The service sucks here, and it gets worse every time I go. The food is excellent, and the beers are a mixed bag, and nothing will blow you out of the water. I went a few months ago and really enjoyed their Centennial I2PA.“

“I am re-rating Barley Creek because they have revamped a lot of different things. The new brewer Joe Percoco has been cranking out new beers on an almost weekly basis like vanilla bourbon stout, mocha latter. super hop triple ipa, the bourbon esb, etc. His tours are very engaging and he took brewery which made the same stuff every year and turned it into a spot where you never know what to expect. He is now building a barrelroom. I had made them a yearly visit until he brought things back. Growler fills are still only $14 and some days they have $8 fills! The ambiance rocks-a restored barn with wooden tables nestled against Camelback Mountain and up the road from outlets. There is a whiffleball stadium in the back, a game room downstairs, an outdoor eating area that is covered in the wintertime, and one can see the brewing that is done on the premises. There is a mug club (now 22oz glass mugs). I think its the owners mission to satisfy everyone and he often chats with the customers to see how things are going and enjoys their conversation. If you are in the Poconos, go here.“

“I spent a great afternoon with The brewer Tim Phillips. More then generous with his time. The place is fashioned like an old log cabin sort of place. The only thing missing was a raring fireplace. Foos was typical but well made. they ha I think 12 brews on tap, but I sampled them all and can’t quite remember. Try this place, it was a real good time, for my non-drinking wife, and myself as well.“
