78 /100 595 Tap and Tavern (Restaurant) 11300 WEST STATE ROAD 84 Stopped in for a snack and some of those happy hour deals. A nice place. Service was also spot on. Food was good pub fare. |
56 /100 595 Tap and Tavern (Restaurant) 11300 WEST STATE ROAD 84 Went during happy hour when then draft beers are $2 off. It’s located in the parking lot of a somewhat dodgy shopping center. I was looking forward to this place since whoever edited the entry claimed this place had 78 taps and served cask ale. Its more like 16 taps and there’s no cask evident from the bar which had kind of a low rent chain feel to it. The tap selection was mainly national craft with only a couple of local crafts. Other than the Green flash hop odyssey citra i didn’t see anything too exotic. It might be a decent local, if you’re really, really close, but I don’t see this as any sort of destination place. |
100 /100 595 Tap and Tavern (Restaurant) 11300 WEST STATE ROAD 84 Great new venue for craft beer, great food, and live music |
70 /100 Ye Olde Falcon Pub (Bar) 2867 S UNIVERSITY DR Visited mid-afternoon for some wings and a beer. The bar itself is located in a strip mall that you need to wind around a bit to get to the front of the place. The place was pretty dark when I first walked in, though my eyes adjusted pretty quick. There were only a couple of people in here when I arrived, though it did fill up as I was leaving. They have a good amount of bar seating on a large oval bar, with bar tables spread out on either side. Approximately 40 taps, with some decent options on offer. Both the beer I had and the one I tried were clean. Service was really friendly and attentive, though they had no idea who brewed the "Falcon Ale" that is listed on the menu as a Fort Lauderdale beer. I still have no idea where that is from, but it was tasty. Wings were solid too. Overall, this place had a good authentic character that I enjoyed. Sounds like students from the nearby college hang out hear some, so evenings it could be a different kind of place. 70 = ★★½ (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time) I only use the total score, not the component parts. |
78 /100 Ye Olde Falcon Pub (Bar) 2867 S UNIVERSITY DR Nice discovery by me last night>>> Ok, not me, I was told to go there by people that know my likings. I went there last night and it was actually a pretty cool place. It’s funny, we get excited because places with good beers are hard to come by in south florida. I don’t know about you, but I kind of like that. The hunt for good bars with excellent beer is a tough thing, but the reward when you kill the prey is absolutely delicious. This is one of those that made me feel happy. I’m usually in the Miami area because I work there, but I live in Pembroke Pines and when I’m in Broward, I’m usually at "The Pub" in Pembroke Pines, but now, I have a nice substitute somewhat in the area!!! |
84 /100 Ye Olde Falcon Pub (Bar) 2867 S UNIVERSITY DR Pretty good selection of taps for South Fla and a fun atmosphere. Nothing that really wows beer geeks, but there is always something good. Service is good and the fish and chips and the sheppards pie are both very tasty. It does get very busy on weekend though. |
74 /100 Ye Olde Falcon Pub (Bar) 2867 S UNIVERSITY DR Nice joint in middle of strip mall, tons of crazy stuff on the walls. Cheery and friendly service and a fairly decent selection of brews, heavier on the macros but still some quality brews- some with very reasonable prices. Food was tasty as well. Worth a stop if one is in the area. |
84 /100 Ye Olde Falcon Pub (Bar) 2867 S UNIVERSITY DR Selection is fabulous, tons of bottles and an extensive tap list. Place gets crazy busy on weekends as its across the street from several colleges/universities. nice english fare, the fish n chips aren’t too be missed. fun place. avoid karaoke night if you are looking to chill and have a beer. |
90 /100 Ye Olde Falcon Pub (Bar) 2867 S UNIVERSITY DR This place was awesome. Needed to kill some time while waiting on my sister-in-law to finish an interview with the school across the street. They had ~40 beers on tap, and I didn’t even look at the bottles. 4-5 beers that I’d never had. Both Holy Mackerel beers along with Sierra Nevada Harvest and some Fullers/Youngs stuff. They served samplers of 4 which made tasting convenient and they also were giving away glasses with a pint of beer on the day I was there. Would love to go back. |
90 /100 Ye Olde Falcon Pub (Bar) 2867 S UNIVERSITY DR I love the Falcon! Its a great place to try new beers and have a good time. They serve drinks like the Left Hand brand, Hobgoblin, Samuel Smith’s, etc. The bartenders are awesome, and everyone there likes to have a good time. They are open early to late, so there is no rush. Definitely give it a shot. |
