COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Winner of the First Olde Hickory Pro Am competition. Very limited production. Our brew master says: 71lbs of high alpha hops were used to make this limited production beer of only 13 barrels. That’s just over 20 grams of hops used for each pint! DBH was brewed with 2 row barley, Carapils and Crisp Crystal 45 malts and fermented to 7% alc/vol. DBH was hopped with 5 different West Coast hops: Chinook, Columbus, Simcoe, Centennial and Cascade. Additionally, DBH was twice dry hopped with different combinations of these hops. The net result is an amazing aroma of ripe juicy fruit mixed in with a bouquet of spring flowers. DBH was brewed to a level of bitterness of 108 IBU’s, and leaves a lingering bitterness; it is, after all, a Double IPA!

UPDATED: FEB 10, 2020 12 oz bottle. From beerrepublic.nl. Enjoyed on Jan 23, 2020. Slightly cloudy amber golden color with a medium size off-white head. Mild aroma of citrus, piney hops and sweet malt. The flavor is piney, citrusy and resinous hops, moderate bitterness and sweet caramel malt. No freshness information available. But I bet this is not the freshest bottle.

UPDATED: OCT 26, 2019 Had this on draft at borefts, now bottle at home (keg was definitely fresher!). Pours a lovely amber colour with a sizeable head. Aroma is grassy, hoppy with lots of pine. Quite soft aroma. Medium body. Flavour is malty, with quite a bit of caramel, not sweet though. High bitterness, very much in style in that regard. Smooth and soft, with grassy and bitter pine flavours from the hops, also lots of herbal notes. Nice! Finishes bittersweet and dry, mostly bitter. I really like the flavour, but the aroma was much better fresh.
