COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular. Previously known as Cains Traditional Bitter (brewed at 4.1%).
NOTE: This is the cask version. The pasteurised version in cans and kegs has a separate listing.
A regular winner of awards for quality and flavour, and winner of the silver medal at the International Brewing Industry Awards 2002, this refreshing yet full-bodied bitter is a favourite with beer drinkers everywhere. The rich flavours of premium malt and goldings hops are unmistakable in this well balanced, traditionally brewed bitter.

Appearance: Amber color with a finger thick white head. Fine lacing.
Aroma: Slightly sweet caramel malty and fruity.
Palate: Medium light body. Slightly sweet and a mild bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Caramel malty, toffee, light hoppy and a fine fruity background.
Overall impression: A bit thin. Otherwise ok.

Light golden brown, clear, pillowy white head, good lacing
Aroma - soft caramel, soft fruits, touch of red berry, subdued aroma
Taste - caramel malts, hedgerow hops, very simple, not bad though, bit watery
Palate - Thin body. Finish - more fruits come through here, red berries, touch of blackcurrant with bitter twig hops in the tail,
Overall - Bit better than the average standard bitter

thin, watery, near flavourless beer had it at the brewery tap and even there it was cloudy and near undrinkable little bit of hop little bit of bready malt i keep giving cains a go and the only thing theyre consistant with is dissapointment.poor
