GregMooreNH (9288) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - JUN 20, 2018UPDATED: APR 9, 2020 Tasted this one after the Procrastinor 3, and at least this one is drinkable. Pours dark mahogany with nearly no head. Aroma is dried fruit, wine and some caramel. Taste is raisin and caramel, moving to breadiness and red wine. Finish carries the wine and malt. A decent ice bock.
Oakes (30699) - Richmond, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 28, 2018Flat and light brown. There's a sweetish, vanilla, and maple note on the nose, Hints of chocolate Just a touch of the roast. I didn't like Mandragore the first time but this smells civilized. On the palate, this has deep fruitiness, sweet & sour. The dark malts have been transformed, with raisins, and caramelized figs. Old school BFM - a crazy beer that defies boundaries, an in fact pretends that they do not exist. Damn, I didn't even like Mandragore...happy accident.
beerplace (8834) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 21, 2018330ml bottle from at Alex's. Pours a very dark brown with no head. Aroma is oxydized with fruity notes. Taste is very dry and sour with berry notes. An ok.
sonnycheeba (7971) - Maryland, USA - NOV 9, 2016Bottle. Pours mostly clear brown. Aroma and flavor are balsamic, acetic acid, vanilla, oak, dark fruit, and some woody notes. Medium body.
fiulijn (28358) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 1, 2016UPDATED: MAY 18, 2018
2018-01-20, vintage 2008 according to my records, most likely Winter 2011, 6 years old, 6-2-6-3-12=29
Dark brown with no head. Smell of old house, old wood, leather, foot. Oily mouthfeel, strong leather flavor, winey, no carbonation, dark malts, moderate acidity, shoes.
It's not aging well, it may be interesting, but it's so weird that it's hard to really like.
2015-10-07, bottle, 7-3-7-3-15=35
Dark brown color with no head, flat. Good balance of tobacco, chocolate and acetic sourness.
Very interesting.
2012-12-12, bottle from Au Grain d'Orge, Crissier 8-4-8-4-17=41
Dark brown color, almost no carbonation and no head. Excellent aroma, strong, with chocolate, wood, a bit vinous as well and light sweat. Good body, not too oily, with strong flavor of dark malts, wood, some chocolate, rather dry; the ice concentration has improved/increased the funky BFM character; there is a trace if acetone. Complex, powerful, very interesting
2012-06-29, bottle at Fête de la Bière Artisanale, Crissier
BVery (13631) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - JUN 9, 2016Tap at Cask Republic. Sour vinegar bomb. Murky pour. I don’t really like this at all. Tastes like the accident it is.
sebletitje (11868) - Bruxelles, BELGIUM - MAY 17, 2016Draft @ Moeder Lambic Original.
Couleur brune foncée, col offre qcq fines bulles beiges.
Ferris (23108) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 7, 2015Bottle - a Tobacco and balsamic. Deep brown and maroon with no head. Lots of tobacco and light soured malts. Tons of tobacco.
mcberko (41987) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 7, 2015330mL bottle, pours black with a reddish tinge and a tiny bubbly head. Nose brings out red wine barrels, light perfumey notes, some toasted bready malt, and light acidity. Flavour is quite vinous, with very tart berries, tobacco and red wine barrels upfront, with some light acidity and a little perfume. Dry, leathery and acidic on the finish. Well-integrated on all the different flavours. Good in small amounts.
