COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Intensa lager extra con un excelente equilibrio entre las maltas, los lúpulos y su alto volumen de alcohol. Es el resultado de la recuperación de una receta histórica de Hijos de Rivera, la Especial Extra (La Colorada). Su elaboración, en nuestro único centro productivo, sigue nuestras pautas tradicionales: las mejores materias primas, un mosto específico, una guarda prolongada, De color oro viejo, brillante. Aromáticamente se percibe el balance hacia las maltas, con agradables notas dulces, acaramelo. En boca el amargor equilibra su alto grado alcohólico y su ligero postgusto picante. A strong lager that offers a perfect balance between the malts, the hops and the high alcohol content. Our Brewmasters recover one of the old Hijos de Rivera historic recipes, the “Especial Extra” (aka La Colorada). Brewed in the only Company’s brewery placed in A Coruña using our traditional methods: best ingredients, long maturing time, passion for the excellence. An intense amber beer. In aroma the balance shifts slightly in favor of the malts, with pleasant sweet notes, caramel-like. The bitterness balances the intense alcohol content and the light piquant aftertaste.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2024 0.33l bottle from Vrutak Krapinska. Crystal clear dark amber body, off-white head, gone soon but thick at least. Oxidized malty, caramelly aroma, alcohol. Oxidized caramelly, malty taste, some stronger than expected bitter herbal hoppiness in the finish, the alcohol clearly in evident. Slightly cloying. Huh, old-school cheap doppelbock, or ESL rather.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2024 0.33 l bottle thanks to Marko. Clear amber, small off-white head. Aroma is cardboard and caramel. Smooth, medium body, soft carbonation. Mostly cardboard aroma, some bread and herbal hops. Alcohol present. Dry finish.

UPDATED: MAY 1, 2024 a small bottle from Mia C'Bon in Gu Ting. Aroma: rather malty. Appearance: clear black tea, 2-3mm. off-white lacing. Palate: medium-bodied and oily, average carbonation, sweet and malty at the finish. Taste: medium-sweet, malt loaf, some iron. Alcohol coming through loud and clear, not bad.

UPDATED: APR 6, 2024 Großporige, stabile Krone. Dunkelbronzen, klare Farbe. Atmen von Malz, Röstung, leicht erdig. Im Antrag dezente Säure, deutliche Malz und Rostaromen, grasige Frische. Hinterlässt leichten Sauerkirschgeschmack.

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2024 Bardzo smaczny, bardzo solidny doppelbock. Dużo rześkiego karmelu i czerwonych owoców, solidna podstawa słodowa, lekko ziołowy finisz i dobrze ukryty alkohol. Naprawdę przyjemne, degystacyjne, idealnie stylowe piwo.
