czar (14997) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 12, 2018bottle from pivot importation. pours unclear light gold with a small white cap offering some retention and lacing. tart if not sour green apples, oaked strong cider, very green almost sulphuric and lightly bitter herbs, cider vinegar as there are lots of acetic peaks; lots of minerals. moderate carbonation, light body - oily; sharp if not puckering woodsy-lemony finish. more affinities with oak-aged cider vinegar than saison/cider blend. a tough one to swallow but it's still quite nice.
