Opaque brown color topped by a dense frothy tan head. Wonderful dark malt nose is reminiscent of fresh baked Oatmeal Raisin cookies. First sip is smooth, earthy and complex. Toasted oats, dark rum, dark corn syrup, toasted pecans, toffee and toasted raisin bread. Sweet, sticky mouthfeel. Warming alcohol, though subdued. Long, chewy, cloying malty finish and aftertaste. Arguably, one of the best porters I have ever tasted, right up there with Samuel Smith's Taddy Porter and Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald. A must have and worth seeking out.
