UPDATED: APR 12, 2024 Almost clear amber with a fluffy head. Roated malt, caramel, bread, citrus, zesty. Mild dry sourness, dry bitterness, malty sweetness. Medium bodied, oily watery texture, soft carbonated, dry zesty malty bittersweet sour finish. Not overwhelming Franconian lager.

UPDATED: MAR 3, 2024 Bayerische Anstich at Zum Franziskaner. Dark golden with a white head. Bread, grass, malt and notes of honey. Quite bitter. An ok one.

UPDATED: NOV 11, 2023 Bottle. Pours amber with medium head. Aroma is malty, carrot juice, some citrus, herbs, some cereals. Taste is malty, caramel, some roast, porridge, roasted white bread, some light salt, flour, some cellar. Nice beer!

UPDATED: JUN 8, 2023 Irgendwo auf halber Strecke zwischen Altgold und hellem Bernstein begegnet mir das Göller Lager mitsamt einer eher instabilen Schaumkrone ganz ansehnlich. Es verströmt dabei einen süß-würzigen, leicht kernigen Duft. Neben einer honigartigen Süße sind auch brotig-würzige Einflüsse auszumachen, abgerundet durch eine feinhopfige Kernigkeit. Der Antrunk zeigt sich breit malzigsüß mit spürbarer Karamellsüße, aber (noch) ohne jedwede Hopfeneinflüsse. Trotzdem das honigsüß geprägte Malz weiterhin die Richtung vorgibt, stellt sich nach und nach eine leichte Hopfenkernigkeit ein. Im weiteren Trinkverlauf mangelt es nicht an einer gefälligen, brotigen Würze, welche das Göller Lager so schön komplett und beinahe vollmundig erscheinen lässt. Durchaus kräftig im Geschmack schließt es harmonisch mit einer schwachen Hopfenherbe und einer dezenten apfelfruchtigen Säuerlichkeit ab. Im Nachtrunk schmeckt man markante Getreidenoten heraus, denen es sogar gelingt, die nachhängende Hopfenherbe zu überdecken. An Restsüße mangelt es nicht, an Süffigkeit ebenso wenig. Ein Bier so richtig zum Versumpfen!

UPDATED: JUN 1, 2023 Gold pour, steady head. Nose is malt. Middle is light carmel, hearty bread, medium kilned malt, floral note. Finish is velvety medium bodied malt.

UPDATED: MAY 17, 2023 500ml bottle (Regalia, Tallinn) (6:4:5:3-:11=2.9-) Deep gold, crystal clear, huge tight persistent off-white head - looks grand! Big sweet malty aroma, and that's while it still has a 5cm thick head. Malty and bitter taste, some huskiness. Smoothish palate, but crispened by the pleasant carbonation, and harshened by a slightly acrid dry resiny bitterness. A characterful lager, not really an 'amber' or 'vienna', doesn't have the fullness of vienna malts.

UPDATED: MAY 5, 2023 500ml bottle. Clear golden color. Sweet, malty, acidity, flour in aroma/taste.

UPDATED: APR 3, 2023 Ło matko co za sztosiwo. W zapachu ciasteczkowo czekoladowo, a smak tylko to oddaje wyraźniej. Barwa miedź, piana jasnokremowa, zbita i drobna. Pełne, normalnie taka ciastkowa słodycz, lekko może karmel nawet, a zaraz wjeżdża na białym koniu gorzka, ale niezbyt gorzka czekolada i dominuje piwo zostawiając po sobie krótki posmak. Dawno nie piłem tak przyjemnego polciemnego piwa.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2023 500mlbottle. Pours a clear dark golden color with a foamy head and bit of lacing. Aroma of toasty malt, grain and hint of caramel. taste of roasted malt, mild honey sweetness and grain. Mild bitterness with a fairly clean finish with a slight sweetness. Light body, smooth, with a subtle sweetness. Easy drinker.
