Ljus (872) - Quebec, CANADA - NOV 10, 2018Apparence : Brune, reflets rouges, carbonatation moyenne, col beige, bonne rétention.
Nez : Fumée, pain grillé, sucre grillé. Pas très intense, mais équilibré.
?
Goût : Pain grillé, caramel, léger chocolat et légère fumée. Terreux?

AleRider78 (2785) - Winchester, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 2, 20182014 rating. Pours a huge frothy creamy off-white coloured head. Has a dark coppery appearance with ruby highlights. Thick dirty lacing. Has a smoky malty aroma, quite strong at first. Flavours are sweet and smoky malts, charcoal-like notes, earthy hops. Some spices come through in the finish and much more smoky as well. Mild warming and tingling sensation. Slick and oily mouthfeel. Pretty good.
dflb (635) - California, USA - OCT 26, 2017UPDATED: OCT 26, 2017 Acquired at La Bodega, Punkrauch is a smoked brown lager brewed by Le Trou du Diable.
The smell of cocoa, chocolate, smokiness, and malt are sensed as you take a drink. Sweet malt adds a complexion that compliments the elements of the beer. An alcohol content of 6.2% is indistinguishable.
The flavor of chocolate is apparent. Cocoa adds to the chocolate body and provides an accent from the very small and light flakes noticed each time you drink the liquor. Caramel harmonizes gracefully with the chocolate and cocoa.
The beer has a watery quality to the take. At the very end of the finish, the smokiness is left in your mouth and upon your breath. A nutty texture is noted upon the mouthfeel and walnut is tasted as you recognize it.
Punkrauch is a scrumptious smoked brown lager. The smokiness is fully experienced in the finish. Chocolate and cocoa are dominant and complimented by a caramel feel. Walnuts brings a nutty texture to the drink. Punkrauch rocks your taste buds and leaves a lasting, smoky impression. The only thing missing is an encore.
Cheers. Prost. Drink for the love of beer.

Ernest (9435) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 17, 2017Bottle.
Head is initially large, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting.
Body is dark brown.
Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain, nuts, chocolate), with notes of smoke (meat/wood), brown sugar, cake frosting.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Very delightful aromatics, and while a tad sweet without enough to balance, enjoyable to drink as well. Needs a little fine tuning, but close to 4+ quality.
geologyguy (2878) - Columbia, South Carolina, USA - JAN 7, 2017Foamy lightly smoked smell, smoked smell but almost medicinal...Odd and not as good as other smoked beers, just tastes like malty carbonation more with time...Taste goes away
