this was different for me bitter and not as hoppy as other 3fff beer it was ok but not my favorite

Huh? Why had I never put in ratings for this beer??? Well, I liked the wanna-be label better than the beer. Oatmeal added and made it quite bready and gave it crazy body, but the hops were subtle and just wasn’t fitting for it’s cold December release. Experiments are fun though!!

On tap at the brewery, Dec. '03. Orange in color with a medium head. Biscuity/toasty flavor. It seemed lacking of hop flavor. Not as heavily hopped as most 3F's beers. My brother, not a hophead, liked it.

Draft at the brewery. Good stuff. I'd say it's somewhere right in between the Pride&Joy and Alpha King. Smooth flavor, I could drink a few of these in a row. Didn't feel like a bitter to me, but it was good and quite drinkable. I'd like to try it again.

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2004 Drank at the brewery. Pretty good, tastes pretty much like the rest of the Three floyd pale ales. there’s a slight oatmeal taste in the first few sips.

Draft at 3F: Light copper color, med-thin head. Light biscuity aroma. Caramelly biscuity flavor, hint of orange in the hops? Strong bite from carbonation.

On tap at the brewery. Kind of a head scratcher here. Color is a reddish-yellow with a quickly diminishing head. Not at all as aggressive as expected. Mellow due to oatmeal, but with a stoniness to the finish. Good for sessioning.

This draft brew tasted at the brewery for the Three Floyds Birthday Gathering 12/27/2003 poured a small head of off-white colored fine to large sized mostly diminishing bubbles that left behind a transparent uncarbonated light yellow brown colored body. It had that typical 3F big hoppy mouthfeel that mellows in a lingering mild hop finish. The flavor was hoppy and doughy while the aroma was doughy and malty. A very interesting flavor. Nick Floyd describe this brew as an experimental oatmeal bitter and the sign over the serving area said it was 4.6% ABV.

Gentle oatmel smoothness with spicy hoppiness. Sort of a doughy, biscuity aroma. Nothing about this beer really jumped out for me, which I suppose is appropriate for something aiming to be a bitter.

A new Three Floyds brew and on tap only. Has a golden hue with minimal head and some lace. The aroma hints of citrus (orange and lemon, not grapefruit), grassy and floral hops. dusty and earthy yeast esters, toasted malts. The taste displays a smoother bitter tone than any other FFF offering, a nice and welcomed change of pace. Good round balance with sublime malting and tradional earthy undertones. Lively light to medium-bodied brew, clean and crisp. This is a solid session brew and a nice addition to the FFF lineup. A brew you can drink all day. Note: The water has been altered to give the brew a more "English" feel.
