snowcrash000 (2288) - Cologne, GERMANY - NOV 30, 2018
UPDATED: NOV 30, 2018 Pours a hazy, pale golden amber coloration with a medium, foamy head and some tiny floaters. Smell is quite herbal and grassy, almost musty. with some light citrus notes as well. Taste follows the nose, being dominated by herbal, grassy, piney, earthy notes and ligher citrus/tropical notes of orange and mango as well. Finishes with a strong bitterness and some herbal notes lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonmation. A rather unusual IPA due to its strong herbal, grassy and bitter notes, with a relatively light fruitiness. Still quite enjoyable for what it is, if you're into that sort of thing.

The_Osprey (10591) - WALES - NOV 29, 2018
UPDATED: NOV 29, 2018 Nov 2018 - 330ml bottle at home in Richmond as 'The Kernel India Pale Ale Chinook Simcoe Amarillo', 7.5%, about 6 weeks since bottling. Murky dirty orange, translucent and sparkling with a foamy off-white head that leaves light lacing. Aroma is lightly perfumed, Pez and Fruit Pastilles, gummy sweets. Body is smooth and rounded with soft carbonation. Taste is faint crushed mint, pine, dried flowers and Fruit Pastilles set against fluffy bready malts, dusty chalky astringent notes linger on. Hmm it's OK but not really the sort of thing I hope for when I buy a Kernel beer. (7-3-7-3-14=3.4)
