mcberko (41820) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 16, 2022
UPDATED: MAR 16, 2022 16 oz. bottle, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out lots of roasted malt, some coffee, hearty oats, and light vanilla. Flavour is quite rich, with lots of vanilla beans upfront on top of a robust roasted malt character, and only a touch of coffee to complement. Really nice vanilla bean character that is far from extract-like. Excellent.

UPDATED: APR 2, 2021 Pours black with a one finger, tan head. Aroma is coffee, cocoa, molasses, vanilla and roast. Taste is chocolate and brown sugar, moving to espresso, vanilla and roast. Finish is sweet mocha and vanilla. Another fine RIS stout.

Pours thick black with thin, dark head. Aroma is coffee, vanilla and roast. Taste is chocolate and some caramel sweetness, warming to vanilla, strong coffee and slight smoke. Finish is coffee. An outstanding imperial stout

UPDATED: MAY 7, 2019 From the 05/05/2018 batch bottle. Served around 50 degrees. It is basically a black pour with a modest, fading tan head. No lacing. Bold, forward aromas of dark roasted chocolate, dark roasted malts, dark fruit, wood, and some moderate alcohol. It is 9.5% ABV. The mouthfeel is bold and the sensation at the fish is warming. Sweet chocolate encapsulates the taste but the booze is ever-present although not overwhelming. Lingering, cutting bite at the finish. The alcohol enters my head in short order. An awesome Russian Imperial Stout.

boto (2444) - Granby, Connecticut, USA - JAN 6, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 6, 2019 Bottle from the Brewery: This one pours an inky opaque dark brown color. There was a small light brown head that didn't linger long or leave any lacing. Good nose. Chocolate, some coffee, roasted malts, vanilla, maybe some plum. The taste is very good. A nice balance with both a little bit of sweetness and bitterness. Chocolate, faint vanilla, some coffee and roasted malts. Some dark fruits. A really nice imperial stout!

Bottle the last of New England haul from Chalumeaux. Nice deep dark pour. Nose is fine cocoa powder and espresso. Tastes of coffee, dark chocolate, plum pit, espresso. Don’t get the vanilla bean. Solid imp Stout. Not sweet.

Very, very tasty local beer. Had the chance to get a can from my son, who stopped by the brewery. Dark as night and has a lot of flavor. Really adds a lot of chocolate and some vanilla. Need to get my hands on some more.

On tap at B33R Gallery (awful money) Okay, this is rather generic rating. B,worth for the money? I, don’t think so

500 from Youri. Near black with tight fluffy head. Nose is roasted malt, licorice, light roasted coffee beans and vanilla. Pleasant but nothing stands out. Vanilla and roast linger in the flavor and the coffee is again light. Smooth body covers the abv well.
