COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barleywine Batch #2, our second annual barley wine, has a new take on our classic style barley wine. Aged in French oak Cabernet Sauvignon barrels for 6 months, it hits the palate with hints of prunes. There is a round maltiness and a bit of hops, with a subtle cabernet finish.

UPDATED: OCT 22, 2020 Bomber, 2015 vintage, thanks Russ (apparently)! Dark fruit aroma with notes of red wine, caramel, toffee, vanilla and oak as well as some booze. Pours deep caramel brown with a thin tan head that has good retention and decent lacing. Starts with dark fruit, caramel and toffee flavors as well as having a rich, full body and smooth mouthfeel. Finishes impeccably smooth with vinous red wine, vanilla and oak flavors as well as a hint of warming booze at the end. Really nice barleywine that aged quite well.

22 oz bottle picked up locally. Pours a deep copper/reddish brown color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have big sweet caramel, brown sugar, dark red fruit character, light toast, hints of floral character on the nose, I got a hint of the Cab barrel character especially on the finish, wood, lots of caramel to the finish.

On tap at Breckenridge Ballpark poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lasting than head. Aromas of dark chocolate, coffee, toffee and dried fruit. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of toffee, bitter chocolate and dried fruit with a smooth dry lingering fruity chocolate finish.

Bottle. Poured a dark brown color with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt, dark fruit and wood aroma. Medium to heavy toasted malt, dark fruit flavor with a medium to heavy dark sweet and small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is solid beer.

Poured from a bomber into a snifter a darkest brown with effervescent jhead that quick left... Aroma definitely has a cabernet scent. Malty. Such sweetness. Flavor of thick boozy prunes. Berries. Molasses. Balanced quite well. Would have loved to nab a second bottle to lay down.
