COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mead ale of superior taste.
The Abbot Castulus, renowed for his kindness, began the tradition of brewing Abbey Beer in Zeliv. The year was 1149. Today Castulus Mead Ale, renamed after the Good Abbot, will please you by its mild and characteristic flavour.
In Europe only religious orders had the right to brew abbey beer. Today the monks of the Premonstratensian Order take special care in producing this unique beer. Try it! No other beer tastes quite like our Abbey Beer.

Beautiful dark amber color, still, no head. The aroma is oxidised. The body is thinning, it has a light flavor of honey and malt, and no bitterness.
Tastes a bit like some extra old Belgian Ale (30 years old).
Not completely bad.

Mamma mia Gunnar what have you sent me. Hazy deep nytty brown colour with no head. Sweet fruity, caramel malty and a bit vinous aroma. Medium body and definately on the sweet side of life. Do not remind me much of beer. Oily texture and very low carbonation. Sweet plum fruity and very similar taste to the caramel pudding I was eating.

Hey! Who stole the head? This poured totally headless, with a body of semi-clear dark amber. The aroma was of spices and sweet dark fruit, as was the taste. The mouthfeel was "flat", but otherwise solid. Finish was again with the sweet.
