UPDATED: JAN 7, 2024 Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is malty and hoppy with some caramel, toasty notes, slight orange, grapefruit and pine. Flavour is medium bitter and mild sweet. Body is medium. Nice Red IPA.

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2023 Dorée sombre, limpide. Arômes résineux écorce d'agrumes caramel. Amertume marquée sucré modéré. Bien.

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2020 Пиво светло коричневого цвета с небольшой среднепузырчатой, рваной пеной. Пена неплохо держалась в бокале, я думаю за счет того, что бокал маленький и я в него постоянно подливал. В аромате сразу чувствуется горький хмель с нотками цитруса и немного полевых цветов. Вкус средне хмелевой с приятной горчинкой. Первое, что вуствуется во вкусе небольшая горечь и аромат цитрусов, чуть позже горечь начинает развиваться и резко прекращается сменяясь приятной сладостью типичного красного эля. Такое впечатление, что за основу был взят красный эль и его очень хорошо охмелили. В послевкусии сладость которая очень быстро сменяется легкой водянистостью.

UPDATED: JUL 5, 2020 Bottle from O'Briens Offo. Lovely amber colour, tiny bit murky but it works with the appearance of this beer. Thick head disappates quickly, but a light skin of bubbles holds on throughout. This is just a well made, seriously easy drinking beer. brown bread and caramel contest with resin and citrus on the nose. Taste is quite hoppy upfront, with a bitter bite on the finish, but the backbone of this beer is that typical red ale brown-bread-toffee notes from the malt. good lively amount of carbonation, maybe the tiniest bit too much for my liking in an ale like this, but otherwise stellar. This beer is how Smithwicks wants their beer to be percieved, but done much better.

UPDATED: OCT 15, 2019 Tap @ the brewpub. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are rich bitter hops, flowers, caramel, malt and has a nice long bitter finish.

UPDATED: SEP 9, 2019 On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber brown with a thick off white head. Aroma of citrus, earthy malt, caramel malt, fruity hops. Flavor of toasted malt, bready malt, light fruits, earthy malt, citrus. Malty with earthy and some fruity hops. Nice red ipa. 7/4/7/4/14 (3.6/5)
