UPDATED: OCT 3, 2023 Cellar draught, 10/1/23. Dark, clear, no head. Nose is lovely as hell bourbon. Just a smidge of soy oxidation, but it just gives an umami flavor that doesn't detract, IMHO. Otherwise, classic choco-vanilla-salt-spice. Lightly fruity, gentle char acidity. Soft, rich, sticky, excellent bourbon and vanilla notes with good attenuation, good salt and char, light dark fruit, light soy. I really appreciate how well this has aged.

jandd1983 (7629) - Wentzville, Missouri, USA - APR 4, 2022
UPDATED: APR 4, 2022 Bottle. It poured a black color with a tan head. The aroma was of malts, marshmallows and wood. The taste was similar to the aroma with more malts, marshmallows, wood, brown sugar, syrup, chocolate, alcohol, smoke with medium carbonation and a nice chewy aftertaste. Aged pretty well.

Klimaet (3744) - Aarhus N, DENMARK - SEP 11, 2019
UPDATED: SEP 11, 2019 Bottle at OBD share. Pours pitch black with a tiny dark brown head. Big notes of chocolate, vanilla, oak, fudge, burned wood. Palate shows more smoke which I had really not hoped for. Ruins it completely for me, sadly.

xmarcnolanx (945) - Kirkwood, Missouri, USA - AUG 1, 2017
Aroma is dark chocolate, marshmallow, and slightly bitter alcohol esters. Taste Is bitter cocoa, slightly sour pine needles, and a bit of alcohol. Finish/mouthfeel is creamy, dense flourless chocolate cake, alcohol, pine needles, and a bit of marshmellow. Lingers like a motherfucker.

JAXSON (612) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 26, 2017
Poured as part of a "Derivation flight" with blends 1-7 including Double Barrel (sans blend 5). Pours thick black with essentially no carbonation. Nose is heavy, heavy thick malt, toasted marshmallow, smoke. Mouth is super sweet and thick, with burned sugars, maple syrup, some smoke, and a bitter finish that borders on acrid. Not one of the better ones.

750 ml bottle to goblet at SPC. Looks good; a nearly opaque dull black with thin beige head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells awesome! A decadent blend of dark malt, chocolate, coffee, oak, and maple syrup. Tastes like it smells with a silky full-bodied mouthfeel that’s dangerously drinkable for the abv. Awesome stuff.
