COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after Wimbledon’s historic Common, this pale ale is burnished gold in colour with a bright sparkle. The aroma has spicy orange notes with a light malt fruitiness. The middle palate is clean with the Maris Otter malt character coming through with orange fruits making a re-appearance, merging with the final refreshing bite of bitterness.

UPDATED: FEB 21, 2020 Cask conditioned at The Wellington, Birmingham. Gold with white head. There is a thinnish, citrusy bitter flavour to this, a touch fusty in character, some sweetness with an orange hint. All quite lightweight. Just okay.

weirdbeered (437) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 12, 2019
UPDATED: OCT 12, 2019 On tap at the Rebel Inn, Streatham. Copper gold, dense white head. Faint citrus aroma - grapefruit, floral, sweet. In taste, musty and bitter with notes of orange, low carbonation, touch flat and watery, chemical after taste at the back of the mouth. Muddy flavour - all in all, not a very good ale. Didn’t finish it.

Beese (17211) - Tooting, London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 19, 2019
UPDATED: SEP 19, 2019 Cask at The Victoria, Sheen. Clear deep golden with a scummy white head. Aroma of apple juice, golden syrup and malt. Dry, earthy flavour with a building residual bitterness that isn’t too balanced. Not awful, and maybe not at peak, but also not a great beer.

Cask at the Ealing beer festival 2019. A clear golden orange coloured pour with a fine white head. Aroma is earthy grainy, wheat, orange rind grass. Flavour is composed of sweaty hop, grassy, orange, little citrus. Greasy. Palate is semi sweet, grainy, low condition.

thejackpacker (2962) - East Sussex, ENGLAND - MAY 31, 2019
UPDATED: MAY 31, 2019 Cask pint at the Prospect of Whitby. Finally made it ot this pub and chose this light 3.7% ale. Not really much to write home about in the aroma or taste. Slight grass and fruity summer like ale. Golden colour. Quite grasping on the palate. Meh.

minutemat (14700) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 17, 2019
UPDATED: MAY 17, 2019 Cask @ Salisbury, Covent Garden. Pours clear golden amber, small white head. Aroma bears some light floral citrus. Palate is thin, a touch watery, gentle pale malt sweetness, distant citrus, not a lot else really. Good for a half while admiring this big old Victorian pub.

@GBBF - translucid golden beer with no foam left; the nose is mineral with notes of citrus and flowers; moderate malt backbone and carbonation; flowery and light earthy finish; decently bitter and tasty
