Elwood (3347) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - OCT 13, 2014Serving: Draft at Rock Bottom Charlotte. It pours a light orange with a slight off white head. Light citrus nose. Fairly decent hop bite up front but it doesn’t last. Light caramel malt with a slightly off tone bitterness. Fairly pedestrian, but no major issues with it.
MetalNHopHead (2791) - Lincoln, Nebraska, USA - JAN 8, 2014This was the only beer that I enjoyed from a six beer sampler at Rock Bottom. The appearance, head, and feel are pretty average for an IPA. The flavor, however, is rather unique. This is a balanced brew with moderate bitterness and a great herbal quality. It’s not perfect, but it was good enough to make me wish that the other beers had been on the same par.
UncleKorm (1337) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - SEP 14, 2012On tap at Colorado Springs location 14 Sep 12. This single hop IPA hits one note but hits it well. Aroma is of Pink Grapefruit & so is the flavor. It is a crisp beer with a pleasant amount of bitter. White head, fair lacing & mostly lasting.
BeerFanDan17 (1171) - Brunswick, Maine, USA - JUL 10, 2011Good IPA. On draft at the 16th street location. Good hoppy bitterness with very slight malt reolution. Very copper-yellow and quite smooth.
freekyp (3691) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - JUN 22, 2011A solid but ultimately forgettable American IPA, Rock Bottom’s entry is a relatively tame affair with a good balance and sessionability. Clean and zippy in the bitterness, it does distinguish itself as "west coast" in the aroma, as billed. Rather, this is a decidedly east coast affair, with muted aromatics and long earthy bitterness supported by a lightly malty backbone. Served unfiltered, American Dream is a somewhat mundane entry.
cbfobes (2938) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - MAY 29, 2011On tap at Milwaukee location, pours a hazy orange with a white head and spotty lacing, very fruity aroma with some spices and pine, the flavor has a lot of grapefruit with tropical notes as well, hmmm, not bad at all.
radagast83 (12460) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - APR 27, 2011Arlington Virginia location. Golden orange color, small wispy head. Aroma is citrus, hops. A bit bready, yeasty notes. Served in a hard plastic cup. Strange.
onceblind (18812) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUL 25, 2010Pours a deep yellow with a great thick white head that will last a while. The nose is fresh citrus and a bit of caramel, but the flavor takes it the other way--medium bodied floral hops mixed splendidly with just enough roasted malt to tone back the bitterness. But its still enough bitter to have its own thing going on. Crisp finish left a bit of sweetness in my mouth begging for more. A great IPA that wasnt as harsh or hoppy as I thought it would be.
sickboy79 (66) - USA - JUL 24, 2010My favorite Rock Bottom brew. I’m a regular at my local Rock Bottom and have had most of them. I prefer IPAs and this one is tops. Big citruis and hop flavors. Strong citrus nose and wonderful aftertaste. Just a big and bold IPA that’s very drinkable! Big fan!
kassner (2500) - Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 14, 2010On tap at the Waterfront, dull golden color, nice head and lacing, OK for Hops but not big. Lots of delicate fresh fruit flavors at the start like a Koelsch and a slightly iron bitter finish at end
