zvsn (9704) - ISRAEL - FEB 17, 2024UPDATED: FEB 17, 2024 Draught at Hoppy TLV 2024. Slightly hazy orange color. Aroma of fruity hops and malt. Sweetish with strong bitterness, herbal, earthy, citrusy, malty. Medium-bodied.
MaltOne (691) - Wisconsin, USA - NOV 15, 2023UPDATED: NOV 15, 2023 Bam! First sip my reaction was 'this is really good!' Straight forward flavor. Clean, not complicated. Beautiful hop blend. Great balance of hop bitter to malt backbone. One of the best I've had.
Livendadream (540) - New Mexico, USA - OCT 14, 2023UPDATED: OCT 14, 2023 Big can ,
Easy drinking before the NM United game, refreshing & super hoppy.
I haven’t had one of these in a long time.
It’s the IPA that got me hooked!
Still a great beer!
Superb!
midovark (6266) - Alkmaar, NETHERLANDS - AUG 13, 2023UPDATED: AUG 13, 2023 Can at home. Somehow it took me 7 years and close to 6 thousand beers to finally try this, crazy. Fine tuned bitterness, still quite ok hop character, great drinkability. If all macro beers were at least this level, then there’d probably be no need for 80% of craft breweries hehe
beerxardas (23) - CYPRUS - JUL 25, 2023UPDATED: SEP 29, 2023 I love bitter and fresh IPAs and this is definitely on the top. Very fresh taste, dense and full body honey like, very high bitterness, slight citrus, extremely hoppy, light caramel and slightly roasted finish. Very sweet on the nose. Recommended.
McDear (77) - Napoli, ITALY - JUN 15, 2023UPDATED: JUN 15, 2023 Buona, bel corpo pieno, piacevolmente amara con una persistenza significativa sulle papille gustative. Schiuma importante ma non invadente. Molto buona.
ironprog (209) - Florida, USA - MAY 19, 2023UPDATED: MAY 19, 2023 12 oz. bottle, 6.9% ABV, RVA: 02/03/23, EJBY: 06/03/23
AROMA: I get minor scents of citrus and pine, and that's it. Admittedly, the beer is fresh out of the fridge and VERY cold. So maybe the aromas will open up a bit as the beer warms.
APPEARANCE: Pours a hazy orangish-brown, with a one-finger high, white, tightly packed, head that dissipates very slowly with good lacing.
TASTE: I'm first hit with some mild sweet citrus that is then evened out with some mild pine bitterness and just a hint of lemon sourness. However, on the backend, the sweetness completely evaporates and the bitterness significantly intensifies. I very much like the taste as I take each sip, but the bitterness level of the finish just ... well ... leaves a bad taste in my mouth. And it's not that the bitterness level is extreme, as I've had way more bitter beers than this one. It's that there is no other flavor to balance out all that bitterness.
MOUTHFEEL: Medium-bodied with a dry and somewhat tacky texture. Carbonation is on the high side of average.
OVERALL: I've had several of the other Stone brews, and I have enjoyed them. But this one is not going to be one them. With each sip I initially think 'Yes, I like this!'. But then 3 seconds later, when all that I can taste is pure bitterness, I tell myself, 'Nope, not gonna buy this ever again.'. I understand that some people will like the bitter factor, but I prefer beers that have flavor that last all the way to the end.
huwlovesbeer (34) - - MAY 18, 2023UPDATED: MAY 18, 2023 Disappointing. I get & like hoppy West Coast IPAs but for me the bitter, bitter, bitter of this virtually kills any other flavours. For me it ends up being simply bitter with an over the top high alcohol coming through & little else. That said, just had a chat with the guy sitting next to me & he loves it. As always it's personal taste/preference.
georgibonchev (267) - - MAY 2, 2023UPDATED: MAY 2, 2023 Amber in colour with medium to big whitish head. Bitter bitter bitter as much that it is hard to notice any more hints but they are there - fruits and caramel mostly.
