On tap at the brewpub in Little Rock. Pours a murky, copper-orange colored body with a finger-width, dense and creamy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a heavy lacing. Aroma is on the sweeter end with a moderate floral hopping giving off a slightly juicy orange and tangerine. A few resins in there with a medium sweet caramel malt backing and a light breadiness. Flavor is similar and pretty malty sweet up front. Sticky caramels with some breadiness and a touch of toast towards the end. Moderate floral hopping with some citruses and sweet resins. Finishes moderately bitter and mostly dry, but malty sweet with a bit of a sticky toast. Lengthy aftertaste following a full, sticky body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, not a bad DIPA, but a bit too sweet for my liking. Lots of sticky malts and a decent floral hop backing, but it never fully came together for me. Eh.

Location: Draft at Little Rock Brewpub, 3/7/12

Aroma: The nose has a ton of citrus hops with some underlying caramel notes
Appearance: The pour is a murky orange-brown color with a beige head and lots of lace
Flavor: The flavor is mid-sweet, caramel and citrus, with a medium-plus bitterness as well
Palate: The body is medium-full, with a thick, creamy feel, average carbonation, and a dry, sticky finish
Overall Impression: Overall, this is a pretty darn solid IIPA. The flavor doesn’t quite live up to the promise of the big citrusy nose, but it has a nice balance between the sweetness and the lasting bitterness. I was fairly impressed.

The name is not spelled correctly. It is rock hopera, which is funny because there is a rock opera playing at the venue across the street. Dark reddish brown with a creamy tan head. Strong sweet caramel and grapefruit aroma. Overly sweet caramel candy sugar and grapefruit taste with a sweet toffee finish and a too mild bitterness. Some diacytlic notes throughout, which I don’t mind personally.

Tap at the brewpub. The smell is hops, citrus, dried fruits, alcohol, and grains. The color is amber with a decent beige colored head. The taste is alcohol, high hop bitterness, a little aggressive, fruits, and hops.
