UPDATED: MAY 12, 2023 Can. Pitch black colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is oak, some wood, liquorice, mild alcohol with some toast and mild dried fruits and plum to it. Flavour is roasted, some ashy, chocolaty, mild syrupy and plummy sweetness to it.

UPDATED: OCT 1, 2020 Can. Black as night. Chocolate and vanilla nose. Lots of oak coming through, with some liquorice. A real pleasure.

UPDATED: AUG 25, 2020 Can '2019', 11.5%. Almost black with small beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, oak, little vanilla and a little liquorice. Flavour is roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, little vanilla, oak, sweet, little liquorice, hop and a little bitter.

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2020 330ml bottle online from Hoptimism, bottle states 11.5%. Pours opaque dark brown to black with a big tan head. Aroma: chocolate, roast, nutty, oak. Taste: moderate sweet & bitter, bitter roast, spicy dark chocolate, burnt toffee, hints of vanilla, oak. Medium to full body, high initial carbonation that falls away, warming roasty bitter close. Definitely a sipper. Maybe the oak is a little overdone here. Enjoyed it though.

Appearance: pours clear dark black with good beige soapy head and lacing. aroma/taste: caramel, molasses, chocolate, oak, coffee, alcohol, oatmeal, light tar, light leather, light earthy, light vanilla, and light liquorice. palette: strong roasted malty aroma, average carbonation, full body, medium to notable sweetness, somewhat balanced by a medium bitterness, long duration and an oily texture. Overall: Intense roasted journey

UPDATED: FEB 1, 2020 Can 330ml at home. From Beerdome. Batch 2. BBE 2024-06-19. A black beer with beige head. Aroma and taste have roasted malts, licorice, wood, vanilla, chocolate, prunes, molasses, caramel. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, roasted finish.

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2020 Burk. Svart med ett ljusbrunt skum. Dofter av mörk choklad, torkad frukt och vanilj. Smakinslag av mörk choklad, torkad frukt, trä, kaffe och vanilj. Oljig munkänsla, fyllig kropp.

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2019 Opaque black beer with a slight brown head. Medium aroma; taste starts medium/heavy sweet and ends slightly bitter and dry. Wood, bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, mocha, roasted malts and coffee. 7/5/9/5

UPDATED: OCT 5, 2019 Can from Glasbanken. Black with a small creamy head. A bit sweet with roasted malt. coffee, some oak and hints of dark fruit. The body was full and the finish with warming alcohol.
