COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A wonderfully drinkable interpretation of a classic English ale. Bookbinder is a blend of four malts combined with two classic Nelson grown European hops (Fuggles and Riwaka). The beer pours an attractive reddish brown, with a cream coloured head. Bookbinder has a sweet, perfumey, malt and hop aroma with a soft, malty, fruit and vinous palate that is both full flavoured and refreshing with a long, gently drying finish.

UPDATED: FEB 28, 2020 Very much in the style of a classic English bitter ale. 330ml, big head, dark brown, malty nose, flavour dominated by the bitter maltiness but still pleasant. Not a typical craft beer, certainly not hoppy. Decent, and sessionable at 3.7.

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2019 Had in bottle, but also on tap at a bar in Christchurch. Lovely drop - good bitter taste - thin mouthfeel and taste after, but low ABV explains that. I would drink this as a session-able beer any day.

With Audrie in Dunedin, New Zealand at Vault 21 on tap, pours a amber color with a tight beige creamy head. Nose is sweet malt , bready with perfumey floral notes. Taste is sweet malt, with floral notes of lavender and rose. Finish is dry, crisp and ends on the malty floral notes. Very nice . Quaff Score 8 / 10

OK for a low alcohol beer if you’re driving, but not much else. No aroma to sniff of. Nice dry finish
