COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark, yet light and easy drinking, this amber ale is a bit roastier than a typical amber ale. It’s actually closer to a roasty version of an English-Style Mild ale. It doesn’t really fit into neat style descriptions, but it does drink well. Think light notes of chocolate with coffee.

bigcat03 (753) - Lincoln, Nebraska, USA - FEB 20, 2019
UPDATED: FEB 20, 2019 Dark ruby brown color with no real head to speak of. Aroma is rotasy with malt, biscuit, and hard chocolate candy. Initial taste is roasted malt and biscuit. Aftertaste has a lingering roasted coffee vibe. Body is a bit thin and carbonation is lively. Good but kind of a mixed bag here.

UPDATED: AUG 20, 2018 Tried the Dark Paradise. It says Amber Ale but it is not. Closer to an English ale or a porter. That being said it is a good beer with dark malt flavors, just don’t like being told it is one thing when it is not.

A solid amber cum mild ale. A little sweet and a little too much body for a mild, but its very sessionable. Another nice one from Kros strain.

Dark brown with a small head. Roasted malt, light coffee, chocolate, light herbal notes. A roasted malt drive mild. Nice.

Draft. A- Roasty, watery, cocoa, mild coffee. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, beige head. T- Roasty, cocoa, mild coffee. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, bland finish. O- A bit boring but drinkable. I imagine the coffee variants are better than just this base.

Though still in their infancy, Kros Strain is showing great promise. Their bottle art is certainly eye-catching already. This Mild Ale brings focus to a style that's often overlooked here in Nebraska. Dark Paradise (fucking cool name, by the way) has a clear amber appearance. Notes of earth, biscuit, caramel, and pronounced toast. Smooth body and a bit more roasty bitterness than you generally get with this style. In all, rather nice and there's the potential for more variants.

AirForceHops (15097) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - SEP 7, 2017
Draft at the brewery. 4 oz. sample. Clear amber color. Aroma is toffee, toasted grain, yeasts. Flavor is lightly herbal with toffee, and, toast. Mouthfeel is balanced well and mild sweetness. Well rounded and very flavorful for a mild ale.
