Ingredients: Golden Promise, Crystal malt and Roasted barley; Slovenian hops.
In April 2005, a specially brewed batch of this beer was filled into 100 hand selected ‘first fill’ bourbon casks to begin 107 days of unique character transformation.
Innis & Gunn are delighted to present the 2006 Limited Edition. This year we have chosen to oak-mature a style of beer that is darker, with a chocolate character from the roasted barley in the recipe, and aromatic, thanks to the use of zesty Slovenian hops.
Colour: Ruby Palate: Devilishly luxurious, rich chocolate character with a flourish of zesty hop complemented by mellow oak Finish: Rounded and satisfying, biscuit malt giving way to orange marmalade

Bottle. Pours hazy brown with a tan head. Aroma of brown sugar, slight wood, slight fruity, loads of dried fruits with a toasted feel. Sweet loads of dried fruits, ribena saft, Sweet with a dry barrel touch.

Bottle. I don’t see how it can be retired since I just bought a bottle in NJ. Hazy dark brown with reddish tint, very small frothy beige head, caramel-whisky aroma, high carbonation, sweetish caramelized malt taste with woodsy flavor, little alcohol undertones, thin body, long bitter woodsy whisky laden finish. Quite smooth and nicely woodsy.

A bourbon look on the pour. Not very dark. Light head. Light flavors up oak barrel and some nuttiness. Not bad for what I expected.

Really boring. Really dull. Some oak. Too much Crystal malt. Some Slovenian hops but I don’t get many. WOW IT’S A SPECIAL LIMITED BEER LET’S GIVE IT FIVE STARS. Guys give it up. Please. Obnoxious box too. Doesn’t get as pretentious as this.

Pours a dark brownish colour. Aroma of malts, roast, coffee, slight liquoirish? Bitter finish.

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2015 Transparent black/bown body, with thin soapy off-white head, some effervascense is present on the sides. The whiskey aroma is present, some cherry. Also some toffee present, oak/wood qualities, also has quite a lot of sweetness. Softer carbonation that expected by the appearance, minimal bitterness. Finish is quite sweet, predominantly toffee. Very dessert-like.

Pours a beautiful dark copper with a smallbubbly white head.
Aroma with dried fruits and roasted malt. Very sweet taste with hints of whisky. Mostly toffee and dark molasses in the palate.
A bit too sweet for me.

Vacker dimmig rödbrun vätska med ett lågt smutsvitt skum.
Oj vilken doft! Här har man tagit fram julknäcken med mandel minsann.
Len söt smak av kola, lite kryddig.
Saknar kropp tycker jag.
Som vanligt gillar jag inte eftersmaken på I&Gs öl, för sött för mig.

Väldigt runt och len i smaken. Starka drag av whisky, ek. Mycket sötma i smaken, malt.
