stevoj (16168) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JAN 9, 2013
Deep dark brown with thin beige head. Aroma is coffee and burnt toast. Taste is nice and bitter (not hop bitter, but roast grain bitter) and leaves a nice stinging aftertaste. This is nice winter time beer, tasty and warming.

330ml bottle. Clear amber colour with average, frothy to creamy, moderately lacing, tan head. Intense toasty caramel malt aroma, hay and husk overtones, a touch of alcohol. Smooth palate, slightly sweet caramel malt taste, some bread, some grain, increasing dry hoppy note.

Pours a dark brown with nice off white head. Aroma of toffee mats and bread. Nive malty flavor, sweet flavor, but palate was a bit thin for a doppel bock, still good though

33 cl bottle @ Timo A. BBE 10/2012.
Pours clear amber color with minimal head. Aroma of nuts, caramel malts, mild fruits and faint alcohol. Flavor of sweet caramel malts, earth, distant dark ripe fruits, some plum, mild berry notes, yeast, flour and nuts. Quite stuffy on the palate, sweetish and somewhat nutty aftertaste.

33 cl bottle, BBE 10/2012
Aroma is very light with hints of hay and peanuts. Flavour has malt, peanuts and sinol-like alcohol. Becomes unpleasantly sour after some sips. Sticky finish. Not good.
