CaptainCougar (7131) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - MAR 11, 2007
Sampled on 7/15/06 at the RBSG ’06 Grand Tasting courtesy of whaleman: Pours a hazy pale golden with a well-lacing frothy white head. Aroma is full of bready floral Belgian yeast with some lavender and alcohol. Starts with a full, airy carbonation, a mild biscuity sweetness and a drier, warming bittersweet finish. Could use a little more balance, which may come with some age.

BückDich (5464) - McCall, Idaho, USA - OCT 3, 2006
RBSG 2006 - DC Grand Tasting Lineup Gold, yellow, white head, no lacing. Nose of sweet citrusy malts and herbal hops. The flavor is sweet, zesty, tart, nice light grass and coriander, lemon peel. The finish is creamy, lingering. Excellent balanced triple. Full character and a nice firm style foundation.

SpringsLicker (4002) - Tennessee, USA - JUL 30, 2006
Sampled during RBSG 2006. This clear light golden brew pours with a huge frothy head of white that laces the glass nicely. Sweet spicy aroma. Sweet and smooth. Very nice.

scraff (2125) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUL 21, 2006
RBSG 06 - Gold, creamy white head. Interesting nose of fresh sourdough bread and orange zest. Not much in the way of typical spices from a tripel. Flavor was very dry, citrusy, with loads of that sourdough flavor. Diggin it! Medium to full bodied, soft carbonation, light tangy, dry finish. A true winner...

jimmack (1223) - Nutley, New Jersey, USA - JUL 20, 2006
Bottle at RBSG ’06. Hazy yellow color with a small white head. Spicy, yeasty aroma of black pepper, mild citrus and lightly toasted malts. Nice dry yeasty flavor. Pepper, citrus and a bit of caramel malt. Very aggressive carbonation. One of the better beers of the night.

4.4
hopscotch (11919) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUL 17, 2006
UPDATED: AUG 20, 2007 Rating #2700... Hand-bottled... RBSG2006... This beer rocks!... Mostly clear yellow ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Excellent retention. Breadsy, citric, lactic aroma. Smells like fresh baked sourdough with a touch of lemon zest. The flavor is complex and wonderful. Well-balanced by mild sweetness, perfect bitterness and acidity. Very doughy. Full-bodied and creamy, but also prickly with fizzy carbonation. Finishes very lightly tart and tangy. Dries out in the end thanks to the alcohol. World class tripel!

jeffc666 (1984) - Fairfax, Virginia, USA - JUL 16, 2006
Hand-bottled 22oz - Mostly clear yellow-golden body topped by a gfine particled bone white head. The aroma is sweet with a dryish malt presence. The flavor is the star, honey, pepper, and an interesting graininess. Good mouth-feel with just enough residuals to stick to style.

4.1
whaleman (2178) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 28, 2006
UPDATED: DEC 11, 2006 Golden-yellow body with thick visible yeast and a foamy white head. Varied aroma of pepper, vanilla, pale honey, and dried grapefruit. Flavor is semi-dry with nice quality residual malt characters, more pepper notes, and an impression of coarse grain husks. Well-carbonated mouthfeel. Conditioned nicely. Well-attenuated and very enjoyable American tripel.
