davidezdonz (1903) - Hong Kong, HONG KONG - FEB 5, 2024
UPDATED: FEB 5, 2024 A 750ml corked and capped bottle, 2017 vintage, bottled on 7th February 2017. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed Zenne glass. It was a lightly hazy golden colour, with a nice one finger white head that had good retention and left nice lacing. Aromas dusty, musty, derelict barn, apple peel, apple, Armagnac, orange peel, oak. Tastes lightly sweet, a touch tart, with bitter notes, candied citrus, lemon peel, citrus rind, apple peel, funky, dusty, oak, with brandy notes. Creamy, medium bodied, with soft carbonation. Overall, drinks really well, balanced with good complexity. Just super enjoyable.

Piepenhenrich (3428) - Oberursel, GERMANY - NOV 6, 2021
UPDATED: NOV 6, 2021 Amber, slightly hazy, with a thin white head. Elegant aroma, not too muggy. Taste is mildly sour. The Cognac barrel gives it a hint of woody flavours, but it is not dominating. After all, this is not the most intense lambic, or - to put it differently - it is a very elegant one.

Overall, on par with the original vintage.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2020 750 ml bottle to matching stemmed Cantillon glass. Looks good; a slightly cloudy golden orange (that's more gold than orange) with white head. Smells great! Big, notes of funk, citrus, and oak alongside a much milder but well-balanced armanac presence. Tastes like it smells with a pleasantly sharp medium-bodied mouthfeel. Beautiful.

Ysok02 (3283) - Mons, BELGIUM - DEC 3, 2019
