500 ml bottle. Clear deep red copper, no head. Boozy toffee/caramel malt, light smoky aroma. Rich sweet toasted toffee/caramel malt taste, dark fruitiness, some whisky and mild floral herbal hop. Pretty flat, older bottle, probably sitting on the shelf since the last rating, buyer beware... still yummy and drinkable, but lifeless. Vinous finish. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

Dark brown pour with a thin head. Good nose with toasted malt and some hops coming through. Medium bodied with great balance. Coffee and cocao with a clean bitter finish.

500ml bottle pours amber in color with a small off-white head that leaves some thin lacing on the glass. Aroma is light toasted malts with some wood and smokiness and floral hops. Taste is malty sweet with some hints of whiskey and oak and a mild hoppy bitterness. Medium body and modest carbonation leave a nice tickle on the tongue. A nicely done ESB style beer and recommended for a tasting.

pours coffee brown, mild head, micro CO2, ringed retention, more lacing than the blonde, no lees. Coffee’d malts, slight nuttiness and caramel on the nose. Drinks slightly creamier than the blonde, 5/10 sweetness up front, mild 2/10 sourness, light caramel and red fieldberry-fruit (strawberry/raspberry) in the mids, very mild 1/10 bitter and oaked finish (almost none). Low-medium complexity, medium depth, average length, good transitions, good carry, excellent drinkability. A very clean and deceptively red-fruity yet dark ale. Not as complex as the blonde but cleaner throughout.

It pours a black color but some ruby hue’s when held to the light. It has a small off beige head, it settles to a thin ring. On the nose, I am getting a large amount of malt and some solid oak. The flavor is somewhat similar to the aroma although I was surprised by the roasted notes, I get a ton of malt. I also am picking up quite a bit of oak and some hints of vanilla. It finishes with a sweetness and some real earthy notes, I find very little hops to speak of. If you are big into scotch whiskey then I can see you enjoying this. I was 2 hrs trying to finish a 500ml bottle. I would go for it again but only on a rare occasion.

Pours a nice dark redish colour with a nice foamy head with little bubbles. nice smooth aroma is smoky with dried fruit. taste light fruity with a smooth smoky and malty finish.

aroma is thin and clean, some sweet brown sugar and % mostly. Just a little head on pour, not much else for fizz, darkish for the style. It’s got a cloying sweetness, sort of like brown sugar or molasses, maybe some woody flavours too. It’s pretty thing and fades out with mostly the % lingering, but clean at least. A bit of almost peat aftertaste or something. It’s alright, but not one I’d get for drinking.

Pours very dark brown with a thin head. Strong malty aroma lots of chocolate and subtle english hops. Very deep and malty, woody with lots of milk chocolate. It is s nice beer but not an ESB, and at 5% certainly not a strong ale. More of a porter if anything.

Bottle. Pours way darker than expected. Lots of red hue when in the light, No head. Looks lifeless. Aromas of sweet caramel and some toffee. Bread like malts as well. Very light body. Slight carbonation. Taste is very mild, some notes of caramel and some toffee. More malt and some cereal in there too. Very easy drinking beer, quite sessionable.

Alc. 5.0%. Clear medium to dark amber color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, caramel, chocolate, toffee, light roasted. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration.
