(Bottle) Dark red colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity, vinous nose with dried fruit, caramel, port wine, oak wood, red fruit, pink grapefruit and lots of earthy/piney hops. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, red fruit, port wine, marzipan, a touch of chocolate, grapefruit, raisins, orange peel and a warming, vinous finish with a generous bitterness and a fair deal of alcohol. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Quite powerful, and possibly not very balanced, but quite tasty. Nice one.

Very hazy red-brown-amber beer. Rich malt nose with something else in there, red fruits. Soft palate and a little dry. Rich barleywine with noticeable alcohol aniseed from the high abv, no real heat though. The Port and Red Wine barrels provide some red fruit richness. A nice barlywine that is just slightly let down by the level of aniseed.

lusikka (7837) - Espoo, FINLAND - MAY 12, 2012
600 ml bottle @ Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen.
Pours a dark amber colour with a white head. Aroma of sweet berries, caramel, oak and nuts. Flavour of sweet caramel malts, sour lingonberries, oak, tannine, smooth wood and quite bitter hops. Full bodied, slick mouthfeel and a long, warming, rich and sweet finish. Truly a dessert.

laiti (11496) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAY 12, 2012
60 cl bottle @ Mikkeller Bar
Aroma is rather sweet with raisins, plums and some sugar. Also some distant notes of moldy cellar. Flavour is sweetish with much warming alcohol, raisins, sugar and plums. Too sweet.
