In the recesses of our brewery lies the Sour Patch, where we cultivate our “Wooden...it be nice!” series; a brewer’s playground for experimenting with wild yeasts, barrel aging & infusion of culinary ingredients. And from this experimentations comes ... Solera No. 2, the 12th release in the series! Solera No. 2 is a wild golden ale that was barrel-aged on French Oak barrels for 1 year!

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2024 Feb 4 2024, bottle. Clear, bright yellow with some steady bubbles. Nose is dry, tart, maybe moderately funky. Thin body, moderately fizzy, very dry. Mild funk, faintly sweet, some toast. Reminds me of Champaign a little bit. Nothing crazy here, just a nice, balanced sour ale.

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2023 Bottle at the July 2023 DC RB Tasting, purchased the year prior at DFH in Milton. Poured a bright yellow color, small wispy head. Aroma was tart lemon, lime. Light acid. Aroma was tangy tart acidic notes, some woody oak.

UPDATED: OCT 3, 2021 Bottle from DFH Brewings & Eats. Mostly clear golden with a small fading white head. Nice aroma, oaky, lemony, bretty, pineapple. Aroma is quite tart, lightly sweet, lemon and pineapple, white wine. Medium body, somewhat prickly. Solid.
