Theydon_Bois	3.2 Hunter's Mary Rose 1545 Panda at home, thanks to Graham Grumbo, 04/02/24. Almost clear light chestnut brown to amber with a just off white head that veers edgewards. Nose is biscuit, toffee, dried fruit rinds, herb, brown bread. Taste comprises earthy fruits, toffee, vinous, hedgerow, nutty, brown bread, malty bite. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Tidy enough bitter. Nailed on this is a re-badge of Half Bore. Sunday, February 4, 2024

Grumbo	3.3 Hunter's Mary Rose 1545 25/12/2023. Bottle courtesy of Painy's visit to the museum. Pours clear dark amber with a frothy off-white head. Attractive pour, though had to keep lots of bits in the bottle. Aroma is malty, caramel, toasted, fruity, hoppy, floral, chalky. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Moderate body, a little foamy carbonation. It's not bad. Monday, December 25, 2023

Lichtzure geur, hint van Brettanomyces, duidelijk geïnfecteerd, appels, licht kazig. Deze saaie Bitter is zojuist geupgrade naar Orval-light. Daardoor best een aangenaam bier geworden. Idiosynkrasie	3.3 Hunter's Mary Rose 1545 500ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - great label, thanks a lot!]. Clear, redd-ish, dark amber colour with average to huge, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Mellow, slightly toasty, caramel malty and floral, slightly fruity, minimally leafy, hoppy aroma, hints of red berries, petals, a touch of tea; ephemeral fruitiness, the leafy flavours gain weight after a while. Taste is floral and slightly fruity, minimally leafy hoppy, minimally toasty, caramel malty basis with a biscuity touch, low residual sweetness, hints of petals, a touch of red berries, tea; minimally chalky finish. Minimally oily, watery texture, dry palate, medium, prickly carbonation. Well hopped, slightly overcarbonated - nice. Sunday, July 23, 2023

Sigmund	3.1 Hunter's Devon Maid 330 ml bottle, as Hunter's Devon Maid Lager, from Gulating ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.4%. Almost clear golden colour, hazy when the yeast is poured in the end, large white head. Sweetish malty aroma, also notes of newmown grass and herbal hops, a hint of honey. Citric mouthfeel. The flavour has the same elements as the aroma, fairly bitter finish. Monday, November 7, 2022

Fairly traditional in style with a light sweetness, which is allowed to develop as its chilli influence is extremely light, and by definition so is its spiciness. Saturday, March 19, 2022

dragnet101	2.9 Hunter's Turtle Bay Caribbean Milk Stout Bottle from lowcostbeer, 11 months in date. Maybe not a popular beverage at the restaurant chain, hence ending up here; who knows. Pours a dark brown, looks watery, thin head, minor retention. Roasty aroma, some dark chocolate and a faint tanginess. Body is indeed a little thin for 5%, there is a roastiness, and some chocolate, nice sweetness and a yeasty tanginess. Overall though its below average. I have now tried 4 beers from Hunters, 2 bitters and 2 stouts. The bitters are far superior which is slightly unusual. Normally with traditional breweries, the darker the beer the better in terms of quality I find. Wednesday, January 26, 2022

Taste of funky yeast, lemon, malts, light coffee, very tangy. Medium bodied with a low carbonation, almost flat. Not very nice. Something is very wrong with this one from appearance to taste.
