Tree House Sense of Wonder
Can from Paul thanks for the trade. Inky black with a thin tan head that slowly dissipates. Chocolate, roast, caramel, with bits of vanilla, toffee, and creamed coffee. Light nuttiness but imho that is drowned out by the big stout flavors. Nice sweet sipper.

Tree House Year of the Dragon
Tewks draught, 4/27/24. Heavily hazy, bronze-maize-golden. Small, white head, slowly to partial cover. Sweet clementine, juicy pineapple-orange-mango. No spice or mineral character. Very straightforward juicy fruits with rich, sweet malts adding honey and white bread character. In the mouth it's malty, rather sweet, a bit flat in flavor with very, very low bitterness. Which is unusual for TH. Pineapple, orange and mango with more sweet fruit and malt coming on the finish. Not a bad beer, clean, not boozey, but just way too sweet and lacking almost any bitterness.

Tree House The Prodigal Haze - Part III Peach
Tewks draught, 4/27/24. Bright bronze-maize. Heavily hazy. Smaller, off-white head slowly to partial cover. Very juicy nose shows big, ripe mango, moderate amounts of peach and pineapple, with juicy tropical fruits, big malts and lots of fruitiness. Clean and bright with no alcohol. The malt is pretty strong here, I don't think it's too much, but it certainly contributes to the beer's overall intensity. In the mouth it's very, very fruity with a multitude of various flavors. Peach is notable but not overdone. Rich malts, well-attenuated and no alcohol or resin. Lots of mango and pineapple. Would like to see a bit more spice and mineral from the NZ component, but very well-done and importantly, not TOO malty/sweet.

Tree House Galaxy Many Ways Part Two - Victoria
Tewks draught, 4/27/24. Ultra pale, white gold, milky, medium-sized, white head, well-retained. Deep, rich, dry spice of Galaxy. Spruce-tinged, but not acidic or unbalanced smelling. Deep, deep mineral and spice with lemon peel, unripe tropical fruit and rich, but tempered honey-like character from the malt. No resin, booze. This is not peak Galaxy a la 2017, but it's damned delightful and probably about as good as Galaxy will ever be again. In the mouth it's soft, creamy, rich but well-attenuated with tons of spice, light perfume, light spruce, stone and tropical fruits and moderate citrus. Tons of mineral. Just a very unique beer that sets itself far apart from most IPAs. Haven't tried the Tasmanian version yet, but very excited for it.

Tree House Hello, Atlantis
Tewks draught, 4/27/24. Lightly milky, paler-golden-brass-bronze. Large, creamy, well-retained, white head. Spicy, lots of mineral, light lemongrass, juicy citrus and pale malts adding gentle honey and biscuit for balance. Clean and no resin or onion. Would have guessed their were NZ hops in this based on the mineral and spice profile, so it's very impressive that it's all American. Tropical fruit and comforting sweetness emerging with warming. Clean, flavorful and drinkable. Excellent malt depth.

Tree House Very Green - Guava
Charlton draught, 4/26/24. Heavy haze, almost milky, muted bronze. Medium-sized, white head, modest retention. Heavy guava in the nose, though the beer stands up to it somewhat, interjecting spicy galaxy and tropical fruit, with a bit of burnt orange peel and chalk. Very juicy, very aromatic, no resin or booze. Biscuity, doughy malts support gently. Soft, incredibly juicy, comforting. Just the right amount of sweetness giving way to galaxy spice and dryness, with guava acidity and big juice notes. Soft, honey-like malts with good attenuation. Rich flavors, but so well-balanced. Guava and passion fruit are far and away the fruits TH does best and this Very Green is a prime example. Such an incredible texture. That really makes the beer (and the balance is top notch too).

Tree House Land of the Dark Night Sky
Charlton draught, 4/26/24. Lightly milky, golden brass. Small, white head sits at partial cover. NZ hops interrupted by American ones. American hops are fine, often great, but this smells like even better NZ hops brought down by citrusy, piney American ones. Excellent, excellent sweat, spice, mineral. Juicy citrus and light pine and lemon on the end. Doughy, biscuity malts softly support. Clean, no resin or booze. Juicy citrus with pineapple, overripe papaya and orange clashing with spicy Nelson and more chalky, mineral-forward NZ hops. American hops are a bit punchy, too pineapple forward. Despite this, the soft, malty texture, ample bitterness and attenuation carry the beer. Probably best to not make a random hop soup. Tastes muddled and unfocused.

Tree House Tornado - Tangerine
Charlton draught, 4/26/24. Bright marigold-bronze. Small, white head sits at partial cover. Yikes, that's like all tangerine. It's lovely but just so dominant. Similar in flavor. Fruity, bitter, floral, really nicely done tangerine but it's way too much. Really no idea how the beer is, which is a shame since Tornado is one of my favorite beers from these guys.

Tree House Earth Day - Mango
Charlton draught, 4/26/24. Heavily hazy, lemon-golden. Fluffy, white head, good retention. Mango is strong, dominating the nose, but it smells fine for what it is. Just wish there was less of it. Good hop character and crackery malt with some light spice and mineral. Soft, juicy, mango-forward in the mouth, but not as dominant, thankfully, as it is in the aroma. Fruity ester, good bitterness, floral and spicy mango lingering. Prefer the base, as I usually do.

Tree House Earth Day
Charlton draught, 4/26/24. Fully hazy, bright lemon-golden. Small, white head, moderately strong retention. Spicy Nelson and fruity yeast with honey and cracker from the malt. Clean, bright, snappy. Lightly juicy fruits and floral accents, as well. Soft and juicy with rich spice. The HB don't add too much woody acidity (though there is some). The Nelson shines through and the malts are soft, wheat-like, chewy and malty, well-attenuated. One of their classic pale ales. Bit of bubble gum and a hint of watermelon. Tons of flavor and well-balanced with ample bitterness.

Tree House Pizza Party
Charlton draught, 4/26/24. Clear brass. Small, white head, steadily to ring. Light fruity, bit herbal with lots of cracker and some dough. Less crisp than some of their recent pilsners. But clean. Whatever the fruity hops are, they overshadow the malt and yeast. Very hoppy in the mouth. Something new Zealand cascade-like it seems. Ample bitterness, bits of pine and a bit of fruity grapefruit. Well-carbonated. Soft, doughy malts. Maybe a touch of soap on the finish with lemon and pine lingering. Definitely seems over-hopped for its size and malt character.

Tree House Very Sappy
Pours in cloudy deep orange with a soapy white head. Deep notes of resin with juicy grapefruit, sweet papaya, subtle citrus, blood orange, fruity guava, and a long mouth coating bitterness Not as dank or grassy as I thought. Actually quite delicious but the heavy piney flavors make you drink it slow.

Tree House Alter Ego
Pours hazy golden yellow with a lively white head. Delicious and crushable with a soft piney and dank body, notes of citrus, florals, juicy pineapple, papaya, bready malt, orange peel, and a mouthfeel of herbal grass. Less sweet than its brother Julius. A bonus, but not as balanced.

Tree House Brownie
2023 500mL bottle drunk 4/24/24. Clear, dark, inky, viscous. Small tan head quickly to ring. Rich, luscious, malty nose with excellently-expressed and balanced bourbon, a hint of deep, subtle smoke and not-overbearing coffee or chocolate. No booze, no excessive oak tannin or sugar. In the mouth it's soft, silky, chewy, thick, richly-malty but properly attenuated. Bit of roasted acidity easily balances, as spicy bourbon and a pinch of oak tannin add more dryness/acidity, as well. Coffee and chocolate add additional complexities without overwhelming. No booze. Pretty spectacular stuff, as expected.

Tree House Bright White Dawn
Canned 3/26/24, drunk fresh and then one month old on 4/24/24. Bright, tangerine-and-lemon-golden. Fully hazy with a small, white head that sits at about one centimeter. Tons of fruity ester, maybe even a smidge of bubble gum. Bright, spicy Nelson up front. Not as familiar with the other two hops though I know Rakau can be a bit more assertive and pine-oriented than even some Nelson expressions. Whatever the case, it's all soft and fruity/spicy here with plentiful bright citrus and playful tropical fruits. Clean, no excessive sweetness or resin. Wow, this has improved greatly in one month. Where it was thin, rough and maybe a bit overly bitter/acidic, it's now soft, almost creamy-textured, with just the right amount of maltiness/sweetness. Good attenuation, still ample bitterness and tons of spice, tropical fruit and citrus. I particularly like the excellent bitterness here that keeps this from being soft, flat and flabby in flavor.

Pours black w/ a razor thin mocha head & a tiny ring of lacing. The aroma is bursting with maple, caramel, & bourbon. The flavor is sweet with maple, delicate with chocolate notes, & just a hint of bourbon to make this so complex & exquisitely tasty! Slick but very enjoyable on the palate. Incredible!!
