Marthas Peculiar Persuasion
Cask On, 3/40/24. Clear, dark auburn with dark chestnut. Small, persistent, dark beige head. Mellow coffee bean, I'd buy coffee-rested. Fruity yeast and toasted malts. Clean. Bourbony coffee, mellow, gently sweet and fruity. Soft and clean. Lighter body, not thin, good attenuation. Respectable.

Marthas Black Forest RIS
Can (2/15/22) pour from The Beer Store, Salem. Glad to see my rating resurrects a beer that's been dead for 10 years! It's an opaque dark brown with thin cap of light brown head, decent viscosity and trace lacing. Aroma is strong earthy malts, molasses/brown bread, wood. Taste reflects aroma. Medium bodied with smooth texture, dry finish with light bitterness. Certainly not a treacly sweet, syrupy RIS but I wish it had been a little sweeter.

Marthas Reverent Beginnings
Draft at the source. I wasn't sure what style to add this as, even after talking to the brewer, who said that it doesn't really meet any style criteria, though it's brewed as an ale not a lager. A mash-up of early (1980s) US craft beer styles. I remember back in that ancient historic period that brewpubs would usually have three or so beers - a dark beer, a light beer, and a wheat beer, without commenting on what style any of them were. So I figured Traditional Ale would work, as an homage to that period. Anyway, clear bright amber color, light tan head with lacey lacing. Taste starts sweet then full bodied and light peppery bitterness. Nostalgic.
