ChainGangGuy	4 Black Ox Stout 12 ounce bottle - $3.00 at Woodstock Beer Market in Woodstock, Georgia. Appearance: Pours a very (very) dark brown body with, at least for a bit, a tall, lofty, biege head. Smell: Roasted barley with a liberal dusting of instant coffee and bitterish chocolate, predominately, but also rounded out with some toast, nuts and plump raisins. Taste: Lightly sweet roasted barley, powdered coffee, slight earthy nuttiness and a bit of dark chocolate and toasted breadcrust. There's a little inkling of smokiness and astringency from those dark malts. Background dark fruitiness. Roasty, slightly fruity finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. maekchu	3.1 Doppo Imperial Ale Bottle from Yamaya. Aroma of fruity hops and overripe stone fruit. Apples, pears, and light pine. Dark amber color, with one finger of light tan foam. Strongish stone fruit flavors, some detectable bitterness. The flavor are not integrated, or rather they do not develop into anything much. Some light alcohol warmth. Sunday, September 18, 2022
maekchu	2.8 Doppo Omachi Sake Rice Lager Beer Bottle from Yamaya. Pilsner malt aroma, just a little fruitiness, and not any sake component. Light champagne color, sort of pastel straw, with a spongy, fat-bubbled and clumpy head of foam. Flavors very similar to aroma, with some tiny floral notes in the background and mild bitterness from mid palate onward. Seems like a pils. I'm not sure what the ginjo grade sake rice adds to this. maekchu	3.1 Doppo White Beer for Oyster Bottle from Yamaya. Light wheaty aroma, thin esters, and something unidentifiable and stinky. Pale pastel yellow color, with a fluffy two fingers of foam. maekchu	3.5 Doppo Schwarz Bottle from Yamaya. Very dark brown, with a dark tan head of foam, and some lacing. Dark roast malt aroma, with dark fruit, cafe au lait, and a tinge of smoke. Flavors include a heavy dose of roast matliness, a bit of char even, dark fruit, and mild bitterness from mid palate to finish. Floats along very nicely. Kind of fades a bit from mid palate. Flavor more or less similar, malt, with some breadiness, and lightly sweet in mid palate. The finish is bitter and dry. Not bad at all, and approaching the style characteristics. TimE	3.8 Doppo Muroka Pilsner I had this after two other samples but the nose still wasn’t that present. A bit of biscuit malt and peach cobbler in the nose, semi sweet. But the mouth, OMG, cereal notes, soft hoppiness, tons of herbal notes, nice soft carbonation. This is a healthy breakfast in a glass. Medium bitterness. So rounded and complex, but did not get any butter popcorn - which I am fine with. Lingering herbal and cereal notes. Amazing Saturday, May 4, 2019
TimE	3.9 Doppo Omachi Sake Rice Lager Beer Drank at the Aeon Mall near Okayama station. It was fresh and in perfect condition. golden color, frothy white head. Nice herbal saaz hoppy dry nose. Fantastically clean palate, dry, grassy, herbal and the rice was some what present in the back of the throat giving a touch of sake like character and sweetness. Biting bitter finish with herbal notes lingering. I like that the sake plays a really background note with this. Absolutely wonderful. Saturday, May 4, 2019

fiery1	2.9 Doppo Barrel Demon 355ml bottle @ Erik's. Acquired from Chuck's in Seattle. Pours an almost clear dark brown with a thin tan head. Nose is dominated from the barrel and fermented rice and rounds off with a hint of nail polish. Flavour is a dominated by the shouchu while the base beer is really taking a back seat here, it's thin and watery. Certainly losing out on style points here. Thursday, March 29, 2018
