On average, how long does this usually last past the release night?

Like 3 to 5 days avg.

Depends on price point... But with the beer scene ever growing best to go ASAP

Last year...4-6 weeks.

It was still in the gift shop cooler in May when they released the Deschutes collab IIRC.

I’m guessing this will be there for months this year like last.

If you’re going up I’ll buy you a sixer if you bring me one back.

One would think they’d make less since it sat for so long.

Or charge less. Much better barrel aged stouts on the market.

$30/4pk isn’t terrible compared to the few other BBA Imperial Stouts available in NE Ohio. Although I’d be more likely to buy two 4pks instead of one if it was priced at $20-24, which is closer to BA Siberian.
BA Boris & Doris are $15-16/22oz, so that’s even more expensive per ounce. Then there’s BA Rasputin at $20/750...

What else is available besides Dragons Milk and Kentucky Bourbon?

The issue isn’t price. The beer costs relatively the same per OZ today as it did in the 22oz days...it was $14/bottle and lasted maybe a day or two.

If this beer tasted the same as earlier vintages, there wouldn’t be a problem.

Instead, they ramped up production when the beer went to 12oz bottles, changed the process/base beer (used to be a small batch of Blackout brewed on the pub system, now production Blackout base), and started aging it in a "mix" of barrels instead of Beam/Buffalo Trace/4 Roses like past releases. The simple fact is the beer isn’t as good as it was in 2008/2009 and earlier.
