Originally posted by drewbeerme Only had 4.3 oz of El Dorado, so the 1+ oz 60 min addition was Zeus. 1.8 oz each at 15 and 5 min, then the remaining .7 oz during chilling, after it’d dropped to 176°. *Theoretically* 135 IBU, so half as strong, but nearly "double" the bitterness of a conventional IPA. |
Originally posted by HornyDevil Finally getting around to brewing this but the recipe is a little different. I am using simcoe, mosaic, nelson, and amarillo. I have us05 and the bry 97 available. Has anyone had any experience with the bry97 in an ipa like this? |
Brewed 10 gal of an amber saison w/ citrus peal in the boil and 10 gal of a belgian wheat beer today. Also did all that racking I mentioned before. Almost all of the carboys are full, which feels really, really good! |
More mead this weekend. Probably will end up with some orange peel in it. Next weekend, however, will be my first attempt at the style saison. Pretty stoked about it. |
Anyone brew this weekend? I finally got a chance to brew a big hoppy monster for the spring, 2 row and munich with Nugget for bittering and Amarillo, Cascade and Citra for aroma to the tune of about 100ibu. Fermenting with S04 like a beast right now. Last week I also did 2 meads, one 3 gallon batch with clover honey, grapefruit and pepper as well as a 1 gallon batch with straight Tupelo honey from north Florida. Going to be lots to drink around here this summer. |
