"Everyone that doesn’t like HF seems to have something against the branding or the fanboyism but I think they’d be hard-pressed to blame the beer."
Well said JulienHuxley. I’ve seen this with a few breweries.

For me, just too far away and not enough time - sigh.
I’ve heard that growlers of HF occasionally pop up in Washington DC, if that’s any closer.

HF’s beer, particularly the pale ales and saisons, are consistently just subtly addicting. That soft well water, those clean, restrained, balanced flavors... it’s a "whole is greater than the sum of its parts" thing for me. All the parts are Top 10% but are put together in a way that bumps the package up to Top 1%.

I think any home brewer or commercial brewer that has tasted Mr. Hills brews (regardless of the style) Knows that his beers are completely legit. Even if you don’t like the man, he brews some really great beer.
I’m not a fanboy … I simply like to drink quality beer. I don’t care about the hype of any damn beer. I judge it AFTER the beer is in my glass.
But onto another point, nearly every state or country has a great brewery. I agree with Travlr, take trips, drink local, share your beer with friends. Spending time with friends is what all beer should be about.

I’ve been drinking it since they opened, back when there was tiny crowds for bottle releases and you can just drive up and go to the festivals. It was #1 then, and definitely still #1. It seems in ordewr to excel as a brewery you need to be a perfectionist and can not be driven by money. (investors or non-brewing owners really kill it)

One thing I do miss was the rustic nontart version of arthur from the first batches. I do like the new one more, but the old one was charming as fuck.

I would say something but then the boostbros would call me out as the next Cobra.
