If North Wales counts as the Shires then a new place called The Bridge Inn in Conwy added to Rb. For a small town there’s a few decent places there now. Manvsbeer was in town too but sadly our paths didn’t cross

Rock and Roll with maybe a bit blues, they play their own songs, I seen them a few times and they are good.

Black Country Ales have recently taken over a run down pub in Burton on Trent called The Dog on Lichfield Street. I haven’t visited it yet but it has 11 cask and cider pumps so will be well worth a visit if you are in the area. They are talking about opening a pub in Worcester city centre too. Would be good to see more of these run down pubs being taken over by microbreweries rather than Tesco.

Interesting about the Worcester pub. I will get my mum on the case to find out more or maybe text Gazza to see if he knows anything further.

They seem to be playing their cards close to their chest on any more info. This is all they have released at the moment. Which is not a lot at all.

Found a new, excellent venue in Oxford last night, we’re on a roll.

You keeping it to yourself Glen? The point of the thread is to shre the info and share the shire love.

It’s The University Club, Fin probably knew about it, but it was a revelation to us, probably be a regular from now.

Hi Glen,

I didn’t know about it but thanks for the tip. I note from your place rating it is not open at weekends, which is fine by me as we probably drink in Oxford more frequently in the week from time to time combining with a gig. Cheers for the shire folk tip off.

I thought that with yours and Loz’s University connections that you may have know about it. Everything indicates that it is a private club, but they seem to welcome everyone at present. I think you will like it, it will replace The Turf Tavern for us on our normal tour.

I’m a bit of a fan of this small local brewery.

Warwick for us this Friday. There is a reasonable mix there now, a Micro Pub, a good Free House and a Brew Pub along with a couple of other places worth visiting.

A friend of my wife lives in Lincoln and she wants to take us to the Pheasantry: she thinks it has a lovely set up, but knows nothing about the beers.
