Message mkgrenwel beers 619 º places 117 º 15:46 Tue 5/5/2015 In his defense, the point of crowdfunding (as best as I can tell) is to get people to donate money to you out of the goodness of their heart. The kickbacks are just supposed to be a "thank you" for the donation, not selling you something at fair market value. It’s just the people in this and the previous thread who seem to be upset that they’re not getting a fair value for their donation.

When you itemize what you’re giving to supporters based on the amount they contribute, you’re doing more than asking for donations. The donation part IMO was helping him get his business off the ground because he couldn’t do it himself (and paying $300 for the items listed, as others have mentioned); it wasn’t an unconditional $300 donation.
