Hello, |
Not sure what youre asking. Are you wanting to just see the best kolsch, the best brown ale, and the best sour red/brown? That’s pretty easy (just click on the name and it will take you to the best of list for that style). |
No no. I’d like to know in which Super Category the Kolsch can get in. Is it a Wheat, a Porter, a Stout,...? |
Where did you put Altbier in? Kölsch will be the same category |
Originally posted by Koelschtrinker All inhabitants of Cologne can put Alt, all inhabitants of Düsseldorf can put Kölsch into supercategory "Non-Beer". All others can just enjoy and move on. |
Altbier is not present either in that ranking: |

Alt, Kölsch and California Common are hybrid styles of ale and lager, so no logical supercategory needed: they are crossovers between supercategories, glueing the system together with a healthy dose of style-defying individuality. |
Thanks for your answer bartlebier but what about those three other styles: ’Brown Ale’, ’Sour Red/Brown’, ’Bière de Garde’ |
Originally posted by ironicman http://www.ratebeer.com/BeerStyles.asp Seems to take care of those pretty elegantly? |
I know this page but I want to include those styles in the specific super categories I have mentionned. |
