Originally posted by Borresteijn Nice try but, unfortunately nearly all (if not all) the major UK banks have phased out Maestro for their debit cards and switched to Visa! I think that was because Maestro still retained a non chip & pin capability (presumably for the US market) and banks in the UK are not keen on that at all. I think there may be some prepaid cards that use Maestro but I haven’t checked - might look into that because prepaid cards can be the cheapest way for Brits to get cash out of ATMs overseas at the moment. I’ve never seen a V Pay card. I know it’s a Europe-only system owned/operated by Visa but pretty much all UK debit cards are "straight" Visa cards. I have no idea what the difference between them is. |
I’ve just done my Eurostar Booking for this. |
If we all get the same train don’t get a discount? |

Ok booked mine on the disasterously poor E? site. Honestly no trains to Ashford on a Sunday. Why doesn’t everyone want to come to trAshfor... ,,, |

Bloody trains. Now that Eurostar don’t do the Any Dutch Station, it’s just cost me an extra €60 for a return from any Belgian station to Bodegraven. Trains from Rotterdam to Brussels looked dodgy on the Sunday so I booked the Thalys to make sure. |
booked 2 single tickets essen - bodegraven and back for €11.50 each. forces me via antwerp but no great shakes. |
