Hey RB.
I realize most here have other favorite styles but I happen to prefer pilsners and other light lagers & ales.
My current lament is that several of my personal faves are disappearing:
Great Lakes Wright Pils - discontinued last year.
Samuel Adams Noble pils - "retired for now"
Peak Organic Fresh Cut Pilsner - The one store in my are that carries it says the brewery is folding or some such shit that their website does not support.
Saranac Summer Pils - Just released and good but tastes like an entirely different beer.
It’s pilsner time (my favorite time for beer).
Is anyone else the least bit concerned or are there no lagerheads here?

There are plenty of lagerheads here. They’re just not flashy, talked about beers. Trust me, I also miss Noble Pils. That was my go-to airport beer for a couple years. The Wright Pils is also missed, but we’ll always have Dortmunder Gold to wash down our sorrows.

Do you get Victory Prima Pils in NC? Or Sierra Nevada Nooner? Another option is to see if one of the smaller brewpubs near you would be interested in brewing one that you could then get regularly.
|
Yes I can get and do enjoy Prima, Nooner is also available and good. These were just a few of my favorites. I also still have these old friends to go to: North Coast Scrimshaw Foothills Torch Left Hand Polestar Smuttynose Vunderbar Brooklyn A couple more... But these few will be VERY sorely missed. Thanks for the comments!

Avery Joe’s American Pilsner is awesome and usually tasting fresh out of the can. Firestone Walker Pivo Pils is also hoppy as hell and delicious.

Outstanding!
Just bought a sixpack of Joe’s cans yesterday.
Dying to try it as I’ve looked for it forever.
Can’t get Pivo in NC, Nor Crisp or Troegs Sunshine.
Funny though, everything else Troegs makes is all over the place.

Isn’t Sierra Nevada Summerfest out soon?
|
There’s a similar lamentable shift in Summertime offerings here as well... The growing array of local small craft breweries is pushing foreign offerings off the shelf. No more Dortmunder (oof). Much smaller selection of weissbiers. No more rando Asian or Latin American lagers.

Summerfest has indeed arrived here though I slightly prefer Nooner. Excellent to have both from same brewer at same time though. I plan to do a head to head between those two. (cue "Hang ’em High" theme)

It is hard to go wrong with Pilsner Urquell in 12 pack brown bottles.
|
And we can get Tipopils here. Its nit as good as it is on tap in Italy, but still pretty tasty.
