The Elysian Great Pumpkin Imperial Pumpkin Ale that I had on tap last year at the Elysian brewpub in Seattle was quite superb. For me it was the best pumpkin beer that I’ve ever had.

The biggest shortcoming of Uinta Punk’n is that it is not Jolly Pumpkin La Parcela.

4. Someone is going to say they like Southern Tier Pumking better and to that I say:

I remember enjoying Pumking a few years ago, but I had it this year and I thought it was an absolute mess. Way too sweet and overspiced. Overall, I love pumpkin beers in the fall though.

Far from it. I would not even think of putting it in my Top 10 to be honest.

What if Tired Hands brewed a pumpkin beer?

I forgot about La Parcela. Great beer. I still give the edge to Uinta however because Uinta Punk’n is beer and La Parcela is neckbeer.

I’m interested in trying more dark pumpkin beers. I think Epic’s Fermentation without Representation is under appreciated.

Have a keg of a spanish pumpkin imperial stout with habanero that I’m excited to try, we’ll be tapping it later in the season at Dutch’s. Probably the opposite of Uinta Punk’n, but should be fun..

Brooklyn Post Road, however, is cold-filtered cinnamon water.

Nah. Since most pumpkin beer is absolutely awful, one that tastes pretty good is easily the best.

Please understand - I have had ONE pumpkin beer - and it was many years ago at GABF that I actually enjoyed. I have hated everyone since (and cannot recall brewer of one I liked)

So, here is the deal - if I buy Uinta and do not like it, next time I visit Chicago, expect a throat punch.

Last year there was a pumpkin beer at Darkness day that I’m told was really good.
