Kasteel Rouge. Very nice and jammy. Probably not the right beer for this heat but who cares.

Evening all, gratz bladdock on the 6K.

Only cracking my first beer now - Rhubarbe de Saison.
On first sniff it has that slightly skunky vegetal thing I don’t like about Northern brewer but getting some tart rhubarb and peppery Belgian saison yeast now. Full bodied, lowish carbonation, big whack of rhubarb up front with a follow up of robust spicy wheat and earthy yeast. A little minerally with tartness of stewed rhubarb in finish - initial aroma aside this is a very decent beer.

Too much backlog to clear to hit 5k I think - finding rating quite dull recently enjoying the beer drinking more

Wooha! ’Twas that rarest of things, a lager that I actually liked. Really liked in fact - gave it a 3.6 which must be one of my highest lager ratings.

Back home, winding down on a hot night with Barcelona Beer Company Bella Lola. Fortunately they’ve changed the label and bottle shape, Italian style now. Nice light Citra-ish ale, if it weren’t for those throat-tickling UFOs...

how is it post-takeover used to be pretty decent.

The Thornbridge t’Ij collab wheat ale up next - big fan of the style when done well (.e. not recked by added corriander and orange peel...)

And yes Shropshire is lovely, would be where I’d choose to live if family & work allowed. Nice hills.

Amazing how some beers just get missed on this site: not as many UK regular raters as we sometimes think maybe.
