Brauerei Höhn

Visited in June '23. Friday morning, cycling around Bamberg, first stop on a glorious sunny day. It's not often that I start drinking at 10:30, but when in Rome.. Sat outside on their lovely, but still empty, patio, had their excellent Görchla and good new Weizen. Enjoyed the short stay here, could happily have drunk a few more of the Görchla. Great start of the day.

Located in the centre of Memmelsdorf, this brewery-cum-guest house is one of the places to begin one’s hiking along the 13-Brauereien-Weg. Only one beer is available on tap, but it is a good one. Friendly staff. Fair prices.

Visited this place on a Saturday morning, quite busy with lots of hotel guests finishing their breakfast, calmed down after a while though. Big space with lots of tables and a bright wooden décor, very homely. Also a house cat that doesn't shy from snuggling up to strangers (when it can sneak into the Gaststube). The Görchla has a unique savouriness going for it but the Bock was a little too buttery for my taste. Waitresses are very friendly, wifi is available and prices are still reasonable at 2,80 EUR a half-litre. Lots to do in the vicinity so no reason not to drop by.

Visited on a monday morning for frühstück and the Görchla beer. Sat outside in the biergarten, which lacked a little atmosphere. Service with a smile. I enjoyed a decadent multi-steak Braumeisterpfanne that almost kept my engine running throughout the day. Beer is on the malty side of unfiltered Lager.

Nice little Biergarten, which was empty when we arrived, but preparing for an afternoon/evening barbecue. Freindly and quick service, good ice cream desert in the heat. Beer was okay.

I was the only customer, drinking their single beer. But that beer was wonderful, and the service great. Worth a stop. Quick by bus 907 from Bamberg station. Perfect stop on the way to Knoblach.

Great quality, as expected in this area.

Visited late morning Wed 15.10.14. Large and slightly modern bar area. Sample half litres vom Fass of both the Gorchla and the Gorchla Bock both of which were untypical for the area.
