74 Popular brown cafe with a 200+ selection of beers, mostly from Belgium, but some Dutch. Lots of interesting beer memorabilia on the walls. |

70 Visited September 2019 with beery friends. Nice cosy old style bar, traditional style.. Friendly service and beers served in good condition... Few seatings outside and good amount of seatings inside... For sure worth a visit and revisit being in the area... |

56 A small bar centrally located in the old town of Delft, having a serious divebar vibe. Not too interesting beer list, but there are a couple of ticks for sure. Besides this place is nothing special. |
86 We visited Locus Publicus on Monday 3rd October 2016. We’d been here before, perhaps 5-6 years ago as I recall chatting to the barman about the amazing feet of FC Twenty Enschede winning the Eredivisie (Dutch Premier Football League) with Steve Mclaren at the helm. We briefly discussed this again with the barman today who spoke about the struggles that the team has had since, seven years after that historic title win. Anyway back to the café, Locus Publicus is centrally located on Brabantse Turfmarkt which is just a minute or two off of the main square, it can be found just a couple of doors down from a great cheese shop. We sat outside on one of the two of tables directly outside the café, there are further tables outside, though these are a little more isolated from the café and are in the centre of pedestrian walkway. Locus Publicus is a really lovely little bar, very down to earth and yet popular with all ages and backgrounds during our visit, it seems like it’s a bit of an institution here in Delft. We continued to chat with the barman this time about music quizzes (he was doing one tonight and goes all over doing these). It is a great spot for people watching and listening in and trying to pick up snippets of Dutch conversation. The beer choice is excellent, the bottled choice is particularly extensive, concentrating heavily on Belgian beers but with a decent Dutch selection also. The tap list which is displayed outside on the LH side at the front was also very good, I had a new beer and new brewery to me called Rize Varken El Dorado IPA, (Pink Pig Brewery) from Arnhem, it was a fab’ beer at 6%. We were enjoying just sitting here so had another before moving on. I only nipped inside to use the toilet facilities, but it seemed quite typical of many Dutch Café bars, it was long but narrow with the bar on the RH side staring a few feet after entering. Quite a cosy feel and it would be nice sitting in here in the depths of winter. One of the best bars in Delft, we loved this place. |
74 Nice little bar with a decent list of beers on tap and temporary bottle selection. Quiet on this friday afternoon, after sitting down in my Ramones T-shirt as one of three customers the bartender went on to play 2 full albums of the Ramones, which was a nice and also little awkward treat. Anyway, had some interesting beers and a nice time. It’s crazy how much different beers you can have in Delft compared to my hometown Den Haag. |
76 A cosy atmosphere is the main point of this bar. Brown interior, welcoming staff. Lacking mostly is the selection. Sure, there are many styles to choose from and some new Dutch stuff is available, but it’s not the place to taste the latest in the beery world. Rather a place to hang out with friends. Good prices. |
72 Nice ambiance and good service. Decent beerselection. |
70 Nice atmosphere. Selection is interesting but not as good as Doerek or the tappistenlokaal. Still worth a visit. Free WiFi. Very reasonable prices, most bottled and draft beers are around 4 Euros. |
