70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 13/20 Boudicca (373) London, England | March 17, 2013 A large modern bar, just round the corner from Kendall / MIT T station, the Meadhall is not cosy but it’s chic and somehow typically American. There’s a huge oval bar with an impressive range of taps set into a copper box. There are 100 beers listed in the menu, so lots of choice!

They claim they have 100 taps however, 40 of the lines were empty. After sitting down and reviewing the beer menu my buddy and I made our selections. Well, both brews we wanted where out. So after real close inspection they really only had 38 or 39 brews on draft. The bartender apologized for all the missing taps on a Saturday night. Obviously this isn’t his fault. That really made me scratch my head. How do you claim 100 taps and on a busy Saturday night 60 -61 of those lines are empty??? We didn’t eat so I cannot comment on the food. The other note here is the prices are on the high side. With Cambridge Brewing Co. and Lord Hobo right down the road, I don’t ever see myself returning here. After looking at the other reviews, I got to say I am a bit baffled….
| 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 johnnnniee (64) Bedford, New Hampshire | September 9, 2012 I stopped in here today on a Sunday afternoon for the Mystic Brewing 1st anniversary party. Coming from out of town the first challenge is parking. There’s a garage around the corner and while convenient it is pricy. The bar itself is on the ground floor of what looks like a large office building not far from Cambridge brewing company. A large circular bar greats you in middle of the space surrounded by chairs and on the outskirts tables and high tops. Tall ceilings and a loft the restrooms, a couple of couches a satellite bar and some TV’s. The large chalkboard on the wall to the far right holds the info to the 100+ taps available for pour. There are also paper menus with the beer selection which outline style, price and size of pour. Our waitstaff was attentive and handy for our visit, we didn’t have any food, but what we saw looked tasty. Two oddities about this place: They will only serve the beer in its brewery logo’d glass which poses a problem when everyone is there for a brewery event and they are out of glasses. The beer menu is arranged by style which is hard to get used to. All in all we enjoyed our stay and will end up back here again, probably to eat as well. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 Travlr (999) Washington, Washington DC | September 8, 2012 A huge hall-like place with a separate bar upstairs. The taps seemed to go on forever, so the list was extensive. Nothing really shockingly unusual, but solid enough. The special treat was the mead. Normally mead is not my favorite, but the three meaderies they had one were spectacular. Great way to close out an evening after drinking sours all night at the Night of the Funk. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 17/20 jmulv (24) New York, New York | August 3, 2012 A friend of mine likes to say, "Let’s go to a bar so wise that they force you to have each beer in the proper glassware." And every time, we always end up here. Tremendous selection, decent prices, good service, and everything comes in the appropriate type of glass. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 MikeMoriendi (50) Boynton Beach, | February 7, 2012 I had heard of the place but didn’t know where it was then low and behold we walk past it heading to Lord Hobo. We had to stop in. The tap list was ridiculously good. I think it was over 100 taps and they were doing a firkin tapping. The atmosphere was slightly higher class but still somewhat dark. The pricing was sort of all over the place with plenty of things on point but some being really expensive ($12 for Ovila?). Service was very good. I enjoyed myself regardless. | 90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 18/20 foamyhead (17) California | November 27, 2011 My top spot in the Boston area. Very good selection of beers both local and from far away.
The big wood bar is gorgeous and welcoming
If you are in the area, GO! | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 dday1231 (2) Massachusetts | November 20, 2011 Nice place! Laid back, fun atmosphere, while also a little classy and hosts to the Kendall/MIT/Tech Start up crowd. I recommend this place and look forward to returning. | 64 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 3/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 13/20 mkgrenwel (62) Cambridge, Massachusetts | November 15, 2011 Beautiful space with a huge oval shaped natural wood bar, high ceiling and big windows that open on nice days.
110 taps of very good beers, but mostly accessible beers. Not the place you’re going to find that single keg of something rare. It does all seem to be fresh, though, and they make a point to serve every beer in the brewery’s logo glass, which is nice, if not a novelty.
The food is tasty, but a little pricey. Very much following the gastropub trend. And the menu is limited.
Service is the major flaw. You never know when someone is going to bother to check on you or take your order.
Overall, lots of potential, but a long way to go to realize it. A good place to stop by for a fresh pint, but after one I’m usually out of there. | 84 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 17/20 williamstome (22) Somerville, Massachusetts | October 16, 2011 Very enjoyable place..classy, knowledge staff, nice selection, good food. |
