66 Finally I got to visit this place too. Quite far from a central and convenient location for most, I would guess. As there is now quite a number of decent places in or close to the city centre I never managed to bother doing the excursion to here, but this time we were passing by and then it made sense. Maybe I waited then too long to visit as I wasn't flabbergasted, but by all means certainly a decent place. Very busy and lively on a Friday evening. Great selection of beer of course and friendly staff. Not sure I would bother to go back here if not on a mission for something specific... |

92 Finally, a visit to this famous bar! I felt like a pilgrim on the metro with my 24 hours card for train, metro, tram and bus. When arriving Puotilan station, take the exit "Puotilan Metrotori" Then you end up at the right side of the main road. Just some minutes to walk to Pikkulintu. Block of flats around a depressing, one storey some kind of local shopping mall. But, very cozy inside the bar. Simple wooden interior but friendly and welcoming staff and a great tap list. No beer meny for the bottled selection, but you are welcomed to see in the fridges. My main target was beer on tap and especially their house beers. When in Rome... No music played. Top notch beer place, simple but great. Could have stayed longer, but I had many more places to visit, left alone in Helsinki since my beer mates had a flight back home early this morning. Wimps! 86 Visited on 4th May 2019. Bit of a trek out of town but 3 mins from a Metro station is hardly a hardship!. In a concrete shopping centre which appears to be doomed sits this gem. Feels like a bit of a 70s timewarp insude, wood panelling and the seating. The beet list is great. Lots of interesting Finnish micros plus some more exotic stuff. Service friendly. Prices good with a tasting flight available. Glad I visited before it goes. Make the trip. It's fab |
76 Old school bar in the Helsinki suburbs. Like a sleepy typical suburbian neighborhood, but the bar is awesome instead of carrying crap lager for the local a-team. They carry three fridges of belgian, brittish, EU, US and finnish bottles (Struise, Nögne, Finnish craft etc) as well as some 20 taps of similar selection. Quite a few specials made for the pub. |

82 Easy to understand that this place still is number 1 among beer places in Helsinki. 22 operating taps with beers from Finnish micros and some British and American ones at my stay in late November 2017. The draught beers can be bought in different sizes, and has got a good value. They also stock quite a huge numbers of bottled beers, not to mention the large, impressive range of Scotch whiskies. A proper pub, medium sized with a larger back door room to the right of the entrance. No TV and no music. Established in 2000 and with a delicious celebration beer made by Cool Head. Friendly and knowledgeable barman at work. To get here I used the metro from the university down town (Helsingin yliopisto) to Puotila, about 20 minuets travel time and then walked for a few minutes under the tunnel and to a local shopping area. There are a few other pubs, so be sure to pick the right one. Just great with the updated and ratebeer friendly webside. (Meet-up with mjs, 30.11.2017). |
82 This is a bit of a strange place located in the suburbs. Grab a Metro there, go to the local centre and what looks like a local pizza place, or a local pub is actually a very good beer place. Don’t be fooled by the outside, inside is a nicely decorated bar with a good selection of beers. |
