Long lasting and mostly lacing. Aroma: grainy and malty, little citra nose. Taste: citrusy and malty with a grapefruit fruity finish. Balanced and refreshing but weak hoppy profile. Next one please! Rhombic	3.1 Baias Bikraf Draught at Twins, Tarragona. Pours a straw yellow colour with a white head. The aromas jump at you, very defined, strong and characteristic peach, huge fruitiness, yeasty and bready. A big NEIPA juice-bomb bouquet in the nose. The flavours are more subdued, almost reminiscent of Gose, sour, citric, yet mild. Watery and mild for a NEIPA. The tangy flavours are pleasant but don't develop much further. Monday, August 31, 2020

AROMA: medium pumpkin and spices aroma. background of slightly sweet malt. low oxidized hops (isovaleric). APPEARANCE: dark amber colour and clear. medium ivory head, creamy, with average retention. TASTE: similar to the aroma with medium pumpkin and spices notes, followed by a slightly sweet malt background. medium to medium-low bitterness with a dry finish. PALATE: medium-light body with medium carbonation. astringency maybe due to polyphenols. OVERALL: a nice pumpkin ale but with a bit of a strange astringency on the palate. Friday, March 15, 2019

corkyrory66	5 Baias Beltza Robust Porter Version robuste du porter de Baias, titrant à 7 % abv, et 35 ebu. Cette bière a reçu du bronze au Barcelona challenge de 2017. Mon exemplaire était à 7 mois avant sa date. Couleur noir intense, à l'opacité forte. Mousse beige, en nappage soyeux à 1 mm. Arômes de molasses, café, écorce de vieux chêne. 1ère bouche à la très belle entame sur café serré, feu de bois. Arrière-bouche avec un joli jambon de Bayonne, bien fait. 2ème qui garde cette ligne dense, forte. Arrière-bouche avec du tabac brun, et un Havane du chef (Mao). 3ème avec une belle profondeur. Arrière-bouche longue, qui trouve un côté boisé, et ce fumé spécial. Longueur de très belle facture, dense, avec des nuances fortes, où j'ai retrouvé certaines nuances de chez Aecht Schlenkerla ... Jambes huileuses, longues. Levure boisée, très belle ligne. Alcool très efficace, il surveille l'ensemble sans s'endormir. Finale superbe. CONCLUSION : les seules nuances de chez Aecht Schlenkerla suffisent à placer cette bière sur orbite, un très beau porter, avec beaucoup de personnalité . La médaille barcelonaise était non seulement méritée, mais devait être d'or (les jurys sont parfois distraits .. (version aimable)). Un vrai baltic porter made in pays basque ... corkyrory66	3.7 Baias Kupela Barley wine de 8,5 % abv et 90 ebu, qui a passé 9 mois dans une bota de Jerez. Mon exemplaire était à 8 mois avant sa date. Couleur roux orangé, à la clarté nette. Bulles très fines, partout, vives. Mousse blanche en fin nappage de surface. Arômes de vin, raisin pressé, fruits blancs, églantine. 1ère bouche fluide, à la belle entame vin sec/fût de chêne/malt cara. Arrière-bouche marquée sur le Jerez, très fine. 2ème bouche vineuse, fine. Arrière-bouche longue, mais un peu moins harmonieuse. 3ème avec du fût, du sherry, et une pointe de raisins secs. Arrière-bouche longue, dont on voudrait un caractère supérieur. Longueur qui trouve de beaux moments. Jambes lisses, longues. Levure fine, fruitée, belle ligne. Alcool bien, mais un peu à la peine sur les 1ères bouches. Finale aux belles nuances. CONCLUSION : on ne peut pas dire que le passage de cette bière en bota lui ait été néfaste, au contraire, mais au vu du temps passé (9 mois), j'attendais un peu plus de caractère.
